Jamal Bryant.."I divorced because of MY infidelity..."

I must say that even a BROKE CLOCK is right at least twice per day...Well, I don't want to call Jamal Bryant a "broke clock" simply because I don't agree with him on many important issues as it pertains to social justice and doctrine, HOWEVER I believe that we should give HONOR to whom honor is due.

Let me be one to say that this is a time and a subject to give honor to...DR. BRYANT!

While browsing Facebook I came across part of an interview with Jamal Bryant by a social media team called Hardley Initiated. After the first 5 seconds of the clip I was hooked because I have never heard Jamal speak regarding his part in the failure of his first marriage and ultimate embarrassment in Baltimore.

10 Out Of 10 Stars!

I would like to give Jamal 10 out of 10 Stars, not only for his openness regarding this issue,  but also for his accuracy in dealing with a subject that has been illusive for many if not most married men in the modern era, youth and individuals, Christian or not.

Although financial instability remains the leading cause of divorce within both the church and in secular society, lack of emotional connection between couples within marriage is a very close second.

Certainly the devil has made it a point to exploit sexual weakness in both men and women at an especially alarming rate against those of us in Christian leadership and within Christian circles.

The Need For Emotional Connection

Even though some think they are, most individuals are not sex addicts. They are just people who simply enjoy or like to have sex. That is healthy. Too many however are actually addicted to the non-sexual intimacy or what is often summed up as "communication" within relationships. I would venture to say that all of us, need and even crave emotional attachment and connection at some level. Sometimes the need for emotional connection can be so overwhelming until it becomes an addiction, which facilitates a whole range of behaviors. This sort of need is pervasive especially as emotional connection and communication are the foundation for any substantive relationship as physical ability, health, excitement and even emotional attachment in any relationship often ebbs and flows.

If one has not reached a certain level of spiritual and even emotional stability, overcoming the "flight syndrome" of relationships, when the relationship is in a valley, can become difficult. Interestingly, if this is not dealt with, the person desiring connection will run away from even that connection or struggle in each valley when they feel their connection and stability has waned. This type of response to the mellow drama of committed relationships can take quite some time to overcome, and in many cases if not addressed, will never be overcome.

Romans 12:2 ~ And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Like anything else, proper and correct behavior and response to adversity demands a spiritual transformation, a renewal of the mind, has to be practiced. There is no such thing as unintentional success. All success is intentional, even the success of marriage, relationships and commitment.

Marriage & Forgiveness: What That Means For The "Other Woman" (or Man)

1 Cor. 6:18 ~ "Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body."(NIV 2011)
I have previously written a post on the biblical position and basis for divorce and remarriage. In that post I specifically dealt with the biblical instructions regarding the institution of marriage and the permissibility of both divorce and remarriage under certain circumstances. While divorce is only a last option when all other forms of reconciliation have failed it is a reality for many and a path that some have had to cross.

I will primarily address how Christians should best respond to the "third party" or the character involved in marital infidelity. This person is usually called "the other woman", and in a growing number of cases it is called "the other man" who now becomes and is the "third party". In some cases it is a whole or complete institution, such as a strip club or some other form of entertainment. I will not deal with the latter in this article.

The 2008 Bloomer ~Barrino Prophecy

Here we go again:

Now, modern ministers are so eager to be on tape, video and everything else, it becomes easy to analyze their words and the outcome of what they say. Listen closely to a Feb. 2008 prophecy and word of healing that Bishop George Bloomer gave to Fantasia Barrino. At the time Fantasia had a tumor growing in her throat effecting her vocals. In April or early May 2008 she underwent surgery to have the tumor removed.

Now we are compelled to ask a few things; did satan attack Fantasia, or did Fantasia attack herself? She certainly didn't deliver her giftings to the church even though that's where they seem to have come from. When did she get promoted? What work has she done for Christ or righteousness?

Maybe her promotion was in Aug. 2009, she met Antwaun Cook (a married man with 2 kids) at the T-mobile store, and began having an affair with him. Maybe it was when she moved him into her mansion (less than a month later and while he was still married)...Y'u-know it was the same mansion that Simon Cowel helped save from foreclosure. Or maybe it was before she got pregnant by the same married man, had an abortion and attempted to commit suicide...

People need to quit playing with God...he's NOT a play toy!

Paula Cook, Fantasia's illicit lover's spouse, who's children were ages 6 and 2 at the time, tried to save her marriage. CNN reported that a month after she separated from her husband expecting him to change his ways, during a husband/wife phone conversation, Fantasia got on the phone and stated the following:
"He don't want you. Maybe the next time you get a husband you'll know how to keep him. That's why he is here with me,"
Can't have the
Bruvas backslidin' on my site
Like the singing slut that she obviously has become, Fantasia is currently pregnant again and the baby is  due in either late December or Early January. The "assumption" is that Antwaun is the baby daddy...Fantasia says this about her unborn child and the situation all together:
"For a while I walked around figuring out what will they say and what will they think about me. But now I tell you I don't live my life for folk. THIS CHILD THAT I AM CARRYING...God has given me this child. And I don't have to hide it from NONE of y'all."
What about God Fantasia? Even Adam realized that he was naked, ashamed and hid himself before God. Is there no shame to expose your sins openly before God? How did God give you anything that you took from someone else while they were legally married? What does this tell all of the fans, especially the young ladies and children, that are so inspired by you, your gift and your testimony? (watch at 6:23 into the linked video as a young lady says "you're my idol") Fantasia said that she hated the devil, but if I could ask one more question I would ask is the lifestyle and the compromise that you have made, what you want for those babies too? We all need love, but God didn't tell us to settle for a sad and fake rendition of it.

Knowledge of self is essential and comes right along with knowledge of God. If you know God, you also know he didn't create yourself to be or do any of this!

Blessed!

Lawyer..."She Was A Woman, And She Was A Christian Woman!"

Mark 4:21-23~21-And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? 22-For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. 23-If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

Daystar Television Network Co-Founder's Marcus & Joni Lamb went on secular television to clear the air about marital infidelity and the resulting extortionist threat that they recently experienced. Of course, it would be aired on ABC (About Battering Christianity) News. Well to be fair, I suppose that Marcus Lamb pretty much battered himself more than anything else.  Daystar is the nations second largest Christian Television Broadcasting Network with annual revenues exceeding $75.7Million

According to the Lambs, they were approached by 3 alleged extortioners who wanted $7.5 Million in exchange for silence regarding Marcus's 2007 affair. Although this situation is deftly serious, I couldn't help but notice the attorney's rendering of the affair itself. I think he tried to manage the fallout but created additional fallout by saying that the woman that Marcus had the affair with was a "Christian woman" as if that makes it better...Anyway, you can see it for yourself, thank God for his mercy and Lord help us as believers!

The good news is that at least Mr. Lamb took matters upon himself and had the nerve to go back and try to mend and fix his error and sin instead of invoking this "marriage is for a season" garbage that popular televangelists have invoked in recent times. Secondly, Mrs. Lamb is a stalwart of a woman to work through the painful issues of infidelity in a biblical manner and do it as wonderfully as she has. May God's peace continue to shine upon her.

The message is this: "We...Church folk...should set our houses in order!" The sin of sexual impurity is not taking any captives, it only seeks to destroy.

To Those On The Fringes:

There is no third party that will provide a godly dimension to your marriage if that third party is not abiding in biblical precepts ministering to both parties of the marriage. Remember, time spent with a woman or a man because you feel like you're in "need" or "lacking an emotional connection", is only a trick of the enemy. If you give yourself to it, only one thing will happen as a result...PAIN!

Blessed!

Update 12/6/2010:

Special thanks to reader Covina, for bringing this to our attention.

Apparrently the Marcus Lamb was not so much of a Lamb in his actions and apparent deceit to the employess of Daystar.  In a suit filed below by one of the plaintiffs, Ms. Jeanette Hawkins, Not only did Mr. Lamb have an affair that lasted more than 5 to 7 years, but alos was engaged in covering the whole mess from employees who depended upon the moral integrity of the Lambs for their ongoing financial security.

It appears that this "Christian Woman" not only appeared on Daystar regularly to "fake da funk" but that after she was exposed was shuffeled off by the Lambs themselves and was given undisclosed amounts of money for her silence. Now the problem is that Mrs. Lamb was also an active part in that particular portion of the coverup?

Now, what do we make of these allegations?
