The global financial recession has had it's impact on every economy around the world. There is probably no developed country that has escaped the impact of sinking monetary values, market instability and just abysmal returns on equity. One would not readily relate an earthquake to a financial recession, but as Pat Robertson relates the Haitian earthquake to an agreement to buy freedom at almost any cost over 200 years ago, we have other "Profits" that are also offering their strange, weird and ongoing, "greasy-spoon" interpretations and revelations of what God did (which is a false assumption) and why he's doing it.
When God Needs A Lender
In financial circles it is often said that the ability to lend and borrow is the lifeblood of businesses and the economy in general. According to Pastor Steve Munsey, (a regular on TBN) God is in the same boat and borrowing and lending is the method that God will use and has planned to jump-start the economy.
It begins like this, as a guest on 'Creating Your World' with Profit Mark Chironna, (who is said to charge $125 per half hour for life coaching) [I wonder how much does he charge to pastor???] Pastor Munsey introduced his book that he called "7 Blessings To Passover" (just in time for Easter) which is a new revelation that Pastor Munsey personally promises will change situations in your life the day after Passover.
Real quickly all it takes is for those planning to celebrate Passover, to "believe God" on the day after Passover. In fact if you follow the directions that Pastor Munsey lays out, you can expect at least 7 supernatural blessings. The video below outlines them but I'll outline them here as follows:
1- An Angel will be dispatched on your behalf2- God will be an enemy to your enemies3- Spirit of prosperity present4- Sickness taken away from you5-Long life6-Increase and inheritance in your life7- Special year of blessing
As you'll notice in the video promotion, all one has to do is stand before the Lord on March 30th with an offering (and we suppose give that offering to him or them) and "God will dispatch that angel and those 7 blessings will take place."
Here's the video regarding the book just in case you find this a little unbelievable:
Well, if you thought that was bad, you ain't heard nothing yet!
Loan God Some Money And He Will Jump-Start The Economy
Now in the world and illegal lender is called (in some circles) "the Juice man". Pastor Munsey believes however that we, the people, have the juice to make God do what we need hi to do for the economy. In a startling revelation on this show (what you didn't see in the video) Pastor Munsey declared that the earthquake in Haiti was about God's plan to jump start the global economy. Yes, you heard it right...the global economy...basing his insights on a legitimate scripture:
Proverbs 19:17~ "He that hath pity upon the poor LENDETH unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again."
Pastor Munsey, said that the tragedy in Haiti was to jump-start the church's and nation's giving to the poor by providing financial support so that the global economy could improve. He said God needed people to just give him a loan, so that they can start to receive his blessings again. Is that right?
Self Centered Blessings???
2 Corinthians 9:7 ~ "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver."
One thing that's true is that God requests that every man give as he/she has purposed in their hearts. That giving has never been to "get" or receive material in return. There is an element of giving called reaping and sowing, and as indicated the Lord loves the "cheerful" giver, but what we need from God in return for gifts is greater than the monetary or temporal materialisms. In fact what God requires of us to give him is much greater than finances.
Poor people need more than money. In fact all people need much more than that. We need the greatest gift ever given to man, JESUS and from there we need his wisdom, development and spiritual relationship and natural sense.
Pastor Munsey receives the Pimpery Extraordinaire Award for his expert and rehearsed charlatanism. I wonder do people like him believe that hell is a reality?
2 Peter 3:3 ~ "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,"
The church needs to be served in a much better manner than this and it is a shame that charlatans such as this continue to have an audience. Lord help your people!
Blessed!
The appearance of this man creeps me out...I'm sorry but I've though the same since I first saw him on TV. He doesn't look "clean" to me. I really hope I'm wrong, but then after heaaring and seeing him only focus on money...that's all it takes for me I guess...
ReplyDeleteThen Chironna's 'Solomon's Secrets to Substantial Success'...hear all those S's...sounds too much like a SSSSerpent to me...Lying snake and snake oil...Ssssssssss...
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see their sales numbers..Ssssssss!!!
Sup. Burnett, it's amazing how so many people fall for the schemes of these false prophets. And it is no surprise that TBN is their home! Please keep on exposing them.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to date myself here: Listening to these "preachers" is like listening to a old vinyl record with a bad scratch that keeps jumping back to the same verse: breakthrough **RECORD SCRATCH** breakthrough **RECORD SCRATCH** prosperity **RECORD SCRATCH** prosperity **RECODR SCRATCH**. Just so weary of these hucksters. Teaching and preaching the same ole junk. Year after year after year. I'm SO thankful to the Lord Jesus that He delivered me from this mess years ago.
ReplyDelete"Record scratch" 4-real!
ReplyDeleteThis is some mess and it only "scratches" the surface. I can sit down and listen to cats like this and in no more than 15 minutes come across all kinds of false doctrine. I do my best not to watch them because I don't want to come across as some ultra critic, but this is so open it's ashame.
People here that are still being duped by these means, seem to be drawn by their own lusts or covetedness
ReplyDeleteThe American dream has infiltrated the Gospel of Christ. Fact is you cannot read any of the New Testament and feel as though there is a prescibed method for getting rich.
ReplyDeletePeople dont get it, the inheritance while for the Children of Isreal was earthly riches (the promised land, etc) for those who trust in Christ our inheritance is for when we get to heaven where moth and rust dont corrupt and theives cannot break in.
This guy kinda reminds me of Jack Nicholson in the Shining! "Hi Honey, I'm Home"
Steve Munsey! Is it me or does it seem He wears a dead cat on his head?
ReplyDeleteAnyways, Steve Munsey is a charlatan of the highest order.
Like you said Pastor Burnett this guy really creeps me out.
Kyle
Kyle,
ReplyDeleteLOL!!!
It seems that all these guys want to do is sell the latest apostasy to the next willing buyer. I find it hard to believe that these guys even believe that GOd exists.
Pastor Burnett,
ReplyDeleteI just saw these two shysters on TBN. I could not believe the nonsense coming out of their mouths! Munsey said that Jesus had to be shown his future in the Garden before he would submit to the cross!
Chironna later said, that when Jesus rose from prayer in Gethsemane, that he then had enough "faith" to go to calvary.
These people do NOT fear God, and people need to wake up to their lies and blatant disregard for sound doctrine.
Stay on that wall watchman!
God Bless!
Ken R,
ReplyDeleteThe more you watch them the more strange it gets doesn't it? sad part is that I can pick out almost any number of preachers and they would clamour to get on their apostate show...
For money and fame...ooh what some people will do!
Unless this guy repents (which is very unlikely), he is going to hell. The end.
