2 Timothy 4: 6-8 ~ 6-For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7-I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8-Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

"Just because you came to church today doesn't mean death is not out there waiting for you,"..."Some of us think that we're going to live forever, Because you're not sick, because you have good health, and you think you have plenty of time. But you don't know where death is standing."
While preaching the message of holiness, Bishop Thoroughgood was the pastor of some of the more famous persons in modern hip hop. Secular stars such as Teddy Riley, Pharell Williams, Missy Elliot and Timbaland claimed the Bishop as their spiritual father. Hopefully they will remember what the Bishop taught and become faithful to it.
Cherishing his memory are his wife of 39 years, Mrs. Ernestine Thoroughgood, his sons Bertram, Emmanuel, and Jonnathan, one daughter, Mekia Bonita, five grandchildren and the congregation of Saints at the New Jerusalem COGIC.
