The Imposition Of Homosexual Marital Morality & COGIC Silence

Psalms 11:3 ~ "If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do"
 Senator Dianne Feinstein
"Family law has traditionally been the preserve of state law. The single exception is the Defense of Marriage Act, (DOMA)""This is not a cause which we are going to drop. We are not faint hearts about this." ~ Senator Dianne Feinstein
Saying that "it's time to right a wrong" and that "This bill will ensure that all married couples in the United States enjoy equal protection of our laws." While the country is distracted by being on the brink of financial ruin, Senator Dianne Feinstein has spearheaded a congressional effort to repeal The Defense Of Marriage Act (DOMA) by introducing a bill designed to scrap it and the concept that it is constitutional to believe that marriage is solely and exclusively between one man and one woman all together.

Marriage, the first institution of God, has consistently been under attack. Inward pressure causes marriages of  all ethics, Christian and non Christian, to end in divorce at a rate of 50%. The current economy places additional and sincere stresses on the marital relationship in general creating financial rifts which is the number one cause of all divorce.

With all of that said, the external pressure against "traditional" marriage, marriage between one man and one woman, has seemingly never been greater. Gay marriage is being promoted as a human right by world councils, at least 6 states within the United States,   New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, Vermont, and New Hampshire and The District Of Columbia have made gay marriage the law, and in other states, such as Illinois, civil unions are now legal and the law of the land. On the other hand, at the time of this writing, 29 states have constitutional bans on gay marriage and 12 states have laws against it.

Then there's the added burden and fact that "traditional" marriage  has never been fought more than it has been fought recently under the current political regime. Remember that it was Feb. 23rd 2011, that the President of the United States told the Attorney General, the nations top lawyer, to not uphold the law by telling him to stop defending the 1996 Defense Of Marriage Act (DOMA). To review, this Act defined marriage as an institution between one man and one woman and was an act of Congressional representatives. The Presidential order scrapped the defense and enforcement of the law all together as if it meant and means nothing, claiming that defending it would be an unconstitutional act and that the law itself was unconstitutional.
In the statement regarding the move to not uphold the law, US Attorney General Eric Holder said the following:
"After careful consideration, including a review of my recommendation, the president has concluded that given a number of factors, including a documented history of discrimination, classifications based on sexual orientation should be subject to a more heightened standard of scrutiny. The President has also concluded that Section 3 of DOMA, as applied to legally married same-sex couples, fails to meet that standard and is therefore unconstitutional. Given that conclusion, the President has instructed the Department not to defend the statute in such cases. I fully concur with the President’s determination." ~ US Attorney General Eric Holder
In other words the stage was set that marriage itself as an institution should take a back seat to the concept of sexual orientation and how a person may "feel discriminated against" if they are not allowed to participate in the marital union.  Their feeling became tantamount to a Constitutional Right and was buttressed against all other struggles for civil and human rights. In short the position that marriage exclusively between a man and woman was considered to be unconstitutional by the current administration.

Move Foreword

Of course the White House has jumped on and endorsed the efforts of Senator Fienstien and others have claimed that the President's views have "evolved" on the issue. This is the statement released regarding the issue:
"This legislation would uphold the principle that the federal government should not deny gay and lesbian couples the same rights and legal protections as straight couples". - White House Press Secretary Jay Carney
A Presidential evolution on the issue, nothing is further from the truth. President Barack Obama has been clear on his intents regarding homosexual rights and his favor for homosexual marriage. This is some of what he has said:
"My expectation is that when you look back on these years, you will see a time in which we put a stop to discrimination against gays and lesbians whether in the office or on the battlefield. You will see a time in which we as a nation finally recognized relationships between two men or two women, are just as real and admirable as relationships between a man and a woman." ~ President Barack Obama  at the HRC 10/2009

Of course all of this has been carefully orchestrated, politicised and endorsed. There is a tipping point where elections could hang in the balance by being too forward on an issue. The issue of homosexual marriage is one of those hot button issues that the wrong move will prove politically deadly.

As stated, President Obama has not been reluctant to come right out and reveal his views on the issue in various commentary. Remember,  he has managed to side with gay rights advocates on almost every hand regarding the acceptance of gay marriage even stating that he will not only scrap DOMA but also replace it with the domestic partners benefit and obligations act:

"And I've called on congress to repeal the so called defense of marriage act and and to pass the domestic partners benefit and obligations act." ~ President Barack Obama at the HRC 10/2009.
So, one thing is for sure, support for traditional marriage will not come from The Obama White House. This is a simple fact that our President has revealed only too often.
Twist & Turn

The question is with all of that said, why are churches so excited that the President focuses on them? Why is it that when representatives from the government sent by the White House, arrive at national conventions, are they greeted as if God himself has simply come to Earth?

It was only a short time ago when the White House sent representatives to the COGIC AIM Convention, approximately 8 or more of them, came to discuss community and faith based partnerships and grants. Remember, these are teh same grants that require certain "hiring standards" that may or may not agree or be in line with church mission statements and or moral ethics. However, in spite of all that these representatives were greeted with enthusiasm and even spoke over the pulpit eloquently...However, not ONE of them addressed the President's position on homosexual marriage. Not one of them were challenged by the Grand Ole Church Of God In Christ leadership to revert to standards of biblical morality as it pertained to homosexual marriage and DOMA repeal.

The Questions Are These:

2010 COGIC Holy Convocation
St. Louis MO.

At the 2010 Holy Convocation, the Saints were enthused because President Obama sent a videotaped message addressing the church and congratulating Presiding Bishop Blake. The President certainly didn't mention homosexual marriage or his desire to repeal DOMA, but there was also no encouragement from church leadership encouraging President Obama to stand in defense of DOMA? In fact I would guarantee that less than 1% of all the Saints that attended the churches highes meeting had no clue what DOMA was either before or after the Presidential videotape.

How can a sitting President court the nations largest African-American Pentecostal Holiness organization and NOT address the issue of homosexuality or homosexual marriage especially in light of what the breakdown of the family has done to the African-American community in particular? How can our church, The Grand Ole Church Of God In Christ, become so enamoured with politics and political associations that we fail to CORRECT, REBUKE and EXHORT elected political officials  holding them accountable to God, PRESERVING the community and ultimately the church and biblical morality?

The reeducation of our children is the goal and the aim of the homosexual advocate. They want to teach that homosexuality is an acceptable lifestyle and that homosexuality is simply OK. The fact is that homosexuality is not OK, neither is it acceptable when compared to heterosexual relationships even with all the faults and flaws in heterosexual unions.

As a church, if we fail to remember who we are, we are destined to be subject to be who "they" whoever they are, want us to be. It may be the homosexual advocate today, but not far behing them are the advocates for pedophilia, the advocates for polygamy, the advocates for polyamory and a host of other self ascribed sexual minorities.

Who will close the gate and say enough is enough and take a stand with a public voice for righteousness and true holiness?
Matthew 5:13-16 ~ "13-Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14-Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15-Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16-Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Blessed!

  1. How Bishop Blake might respond: um, the COGIC already has a policy statement against gay marriage, so what else do you expect me to say?

    Such inspiring leadership.

  2. Dr. James Dobson on his Family Talk radio broadcast laid into the "yellow belly" Republicans who turned coat, and took money in exchange for their votes codoning same sex marriage in New York.

He spoke regarding President Obama's position that banning gay marriage was a matter of discrimination, calling the vote to legalize same sex marriage a "good thing".

He said that President Obama and the current administration had simply "come out of the closet" on the issue. Elder D.L. Foster at GCMWatch.com used the same terminology in
his recent article on the subject.

Dr. Dobson gave a list of 6 reasons why Christians should oppose homosexual marriage and state and federal sanction of it.

1- The institution of marriage its totally uprooted and cohabitation replaces committment. Automatic marriage leads to automatic divorce which is bad for everyone.

2- Children will suffer adverse psychological affects.

3- Public schools at every age level, MUST endorse it even against parental will or desire to exclude them. Look at CA. law maker Mark Leno's demand for the public schools to teach the heroes of homosexuality to children in school???

4- Adoption and foster care laws will be obsolete. In Illinois DCFS (Department Of Children & Family Services) cancelled the contract with Catholic Charities because Catholic Charities refused to provide children and services to homosexual couples. Catholic Charities sued and received and injunction. This case will not only stop at teh Illinois State Supreme Ct., it will go to the US Supreme Court along with many others along this line...It is soon to be a litigation explosion!

If you want to knwo what field of study to undertake...go into the legal field, there will be more work than you can shake a stick at soon.

5- The gospel of Christ will be hampered, because now certain things can't be preached against openly.

6- Culture wars will end and the world will simply be Mt. 24:37 such as it was in the days of Noah, where there was eating and drinking and giving in marriage. No structure form or moral base.

This (homosexual marriage) is being imposed on the majority by the few. The problem with that is that sex IS NOT a matter similar to racial equality. If it is the case, then ALL pedophiles and other sexual minorities and deviants have a right to walk right in the door to receive equal treatment under the law.

Lord help us as a people. We must not forget that the Lord is where out hope lies. He can and will strengthern us.

  4. You'll notice the media applauds and cheers along. In fact, they want to convince us that homosexuals are "just like you". They do this in several ways. For instance, it is widely known that alot of black women are becoming HIV+ and the media will make sure you know its from heterosexual sex. What they will neglect to mention is that these women get it from having sex with bisexual men who was infected with HIV from having sex with men.

The media also normalizes that lifestyle by making HIV seem like an equal opportunity disease "anyone can get it" they say. Technically its true, but in reality, a heterosexual man, even a promiscuous one, catching HIV is slim to none. Gay men make up most of HIV cases. Gay men are also much more promiscuous than heterosexual men. Its not uncommon for a gay man to go thru thousands of sex partners.

In California, schools are now required to teach "gay history" whatever that may be. And, Obama appointed a transsexual woman to a cabinet post. As you can imagine, the mainstream media fell over themselves to regard that as 'historic'. It's sick.

  7. ON point FM and thanks for the links...what the church must do is step the message to the community as it pertains to what is at stake here.

It's not about endorsing or not endorsing the "love" that perople have for one another. It's about what's right, healthy to the individuals involved and ultimately healthy to society.

The flood gate is opened and the question remains, why favor homosexuality over any other sexual preference. It would seem that the polygamists would have a much better argument and a longer, more solid history, but yet laws are thoroughly constructed against it.

So it is unbalanced and based on nothignreasonable except a vocal advocacy. So now it's whoever is most vocal that gets their way??? That's a mess!

  9. Lets not think for one second that the media isn't biased, liberal and anti-God in its reporting of the news and most people and sad to say some Christians are very gullible, too many Christians are spiritually lazy, letting others including clergy do their thinking and decision making for them, few want to step up and take responsibilty or hold leaders accountable, that is one of the many reasons the church is in the chaos its in today.
The visible church wants the worlds approval and acceptance, the world cares nothing for the things of God only its own self gratification and the church is following at a close second, in some cases its neck and neck! Jesus said, you seek Me only because you ate the fish and loaves and were filled (free food) John 6:26
Today its big houses, expensive cars, bank accounts and worldly status.
