Those who have read this blog long enough can readily see that while I love the history, I have very little affinity for the social positions of the Black Boule. Y'u-know, the Boule that was entrusted to oversee the affairs of the Black community and make sure that OUR needs were taken care of and addressed in the political and social arena???
OK, so you didn't get that memo...
Well someplace between when the memo was penned and the Black community crumbling under the weight of inept social, political, economic and educational policy (y'u-know the very things that the Boule was to shore Black people up against) SOMEBODY went on the take...Since most of them who were taking were spawn by the church, and since some of the worst social policy and endorsements in history are now emanating from the Black church in particular (and this is NOT the post for the Black church/White church/Jesus church argument please...) we can only conclude that the church itself is probably one of the greatest progenitors of the absolute breakdown of moral and social values that we are experiencing and facing within the Black community today...
How So???
NAACP Chair Roslyn Brock Endorses Gay Marriage |
Well, when AIDS and HIV are ravaging our community at an obscene rate, our Black Boule endorse homosexual marriage and further contribute to the breakdown of the traditional family, calling it "progress" and a fight against "homophobia" and "discrimination"...WHAT????
When Black babies are being murdered under the guise of legalized abortions to the tune of some 1400 babies per day, the Black Boule calls it a fight for "freedom" and "right of choice"
When alcohol, for instance, ravages our Black community, destroying families by the droves with a packaged liquor store or bar on almost every corner in the hood, the Black Boule calls it a matter of "equal access" and simply pours more fuel on an already raging and out of control, open fire...
When our young men are turning our streets into violent cesspools of blood, the Black Boule may put together a march, but don't expect them to get their hands too dirty with one on one interactions...that just may ruin their freshly dry-cleaned suit or outfit...
As the education system underserves our Black children, especially in Illinois, don't expect the Black Boule to tread too loudly as it just may ruffle the feathers of their political candidates, some of whom either cater to their ranks or are expecting a "quid-pro-quo" type of relationship in exchange for the endorsement of certain political positions...
Boule Sentiments
None of this was more clear than when certain members of the Boule responded to the soon to be Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney after he spoke to the NAACP on Wed. July 11th.
While I commend Mr. Romney for taking the time to address the NAACP, which is something that not even our Black President had the time or opportunity to do personally this year, (MAYBE THE TABLES DIDN'T COST ENOUGH FOR HIM THIS TIME) It was clear that he was met with all kinds of undue criticism for his efforts and openness about the condition of the Black community which suffers from high rates of poverty, unemployment, and under-education...In fact, in my back yard, and according to the most recent government census, the zip code 61605, PEORIA, IL South Side... is one of the poorest and most economically disadvantaged zip codes IN THE COUNTRY??? Poverty over twice the national average...unemployment nearly exceeding 40%...Churches and Boule members trekking in every Sunday to collect an offering, shout and dance, and go home...Where is the BOULE on the issue of poverty and crisis in my back yard, which I just about gone broke addressing???? Where are they in your community???
Now, here's what really caught my eye from a Boule member as she responded to Mr. Romney's speech:
"I believe his vested interests are in white Americans,"..."You cannot possibly talk about jobs for black people at the level he's coming from. He's talking about entrepreneurship, savings accounts — black people can barely find a way to get back and forth from work."..."It's such a big gap in what he's attempting to sell us." ... said Charlette Stoker Manning, chair of Women in NAACP.
The Boule Strikes Again
I believe that Mrs. Manning's response is representative of a Boule sentiment that has been present for years and is a contributing factor as to why our Black community continues to suffer, while Boule organizations distribute handouts to the needy...
Believe me, having been a recipient of the handouts from time to time in my life, I'm glad that the Boule has been there for the hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people that it has, but to suggest that Black people cannot talk of opportunities of entrepreneurship on the level of a white business person is a ridiculous sentiment...
To merely suggest that Black people have a hard time funding "savings accounts" and even a harder time simply making it to work, is something that demands the attention of every Black American.
No wonder we suffer as we do. If it is the case that the Boule believes that Blacks are so inept that we can't walk, talk and chew gum at the same time and need to be spoon fed, then we are on or have a need to be on life support at a greater amount than we are currently.
There is something at work here and I don't like it...I don't like how the Boule can leave the inner city community only to come back to collect an offering or to politically grandstand...
I don't like how the Boule can talk about how people can't get gas money when they quit ridin' the bus last week...
I don't like how the Boule can look down their long nose at those that are hurting and dare to suggest that they are of a lower cast and state, especially when former leaders have given their lives to eliminate and do away with that sentiment...
The culture has changed and the Boule simply seems to be busy serving itself. What was once a vision of accountability addressing causes that affected all of us, has become grandstanding efforts, promoting certain of us to the exclusion of others...The questions are, are these people even relevant to our struggle and if so how? How is it that those who have long left the community are relevant to what is happening in it now?
Are they brokering a peace to gang members and rival groups? Are they holding teachers accountable to do more than collect a check in the educational process? Are they demanding that parents raise their children and be a functional part of their lives? Are they seeking opportunities to challenge the business community, making them responsible for hiring standards and practices that includes Black men and women of the community? Are they holding political officials accountable for policies that facilitate morality, moral values and family values?
All of these things can be and should be done by the church, but when the Boule is so deeply entrenched within the church, and even shapes and directs the church message to weakness, inclusion and politically correct sentiments, there is bound to be confusion and weakness all across the board.
THANK GOD for all those Pastors and former Boule leaders that had sense enough to jump ship and make a move that could save thousands from destruction. All I know is what the BOULE is selling and has sold...I CAN'T AFFORD AND WOULDN'T DARE ATTEMPT TO BUY!
Blessed!

Bro. You hit the Nail on the head with this one. I am so sick of these arrogant, disconnected proxies attempting to speak for us. They are so full of self pride they can't even see how they claim progress, freedom and independence but they are not even intellectually free enough to create an agenda of their own, rather than regurgitating the liberals Godless and destructive propaganda. They are mindless chocolate covered robots. Many of whom come from the church. So much for the truth making you free..Eld.Rejinald Freeman
ReplyDeleteThe Mind Of The Free!
ReplyDeleteThe TRUTH makes one free, but the garbage that the Bioule Black gives and embraces will choke a horse!
That's ALL that I can say my friend!!!!
Pastor Burnett,
ReplyDeleteI went to college with these type of people and they were all over campus and GOD separated me these mindsets when I was in my early to mid 20s. These black elites have penetrated every face of society and they are enemies of CHRIST! They are our black modern day Pharisees and Sadducees and King Herods (That's what I call Obama) Why because JESUS said Luke 11:23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.
These black elites, boule, prince hall freemasons, eastern stars, omega psi phi, alpha phi alpha, kappa alpha psi,phi beta sigma, delta sigma theta, alpha kappa alpha, sigma gamma ro's have scattered the flock!I am convinced they are hirelings! John 10:12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
If these black elites do not repent, the LORD is going to say to them, "Depart me ye workers of iniquity, for I never knew you!"
Excellent article Pastor Burnett! Keep up the good work!
Sincerely yours in CHRIST,
