Men allege sexual coercion by prominent Atlanta pastor

STORY HIGHLIGHTS

Men file suit against Atlanta-area pastor Eddie Long
One suit alleges Long used his position to coerce sex A Long spokesman denies the allegations

(CNN) -- Two Georgia men have filed suit claiming that prominent Atlanta pastor Eddie Long coerced them into sex. The suits, filed Tuesday in DeKalb County, Georgia, allege that Long used his position as a spiritual authority and bishop to coerce young male members and employees of his New Birth Missionary Baptist Church into sex. Long took one plaintiff, Anthony Flagg, 21, to overnight trips to a half dozen American cities, Flagg's suit alleges.

"Long shared a bedroom and engaged in intimate sexual contact with plaintiff Flagg including kissing, massaging, masturbating of plaintiff Flagg by defendant Long and oral sexual contact," the suit says.

Long spokesman Art Franklin said Tuesday that "we categorically deny the allegations."

"It is very unfortunate that someone has taken this course of action," he said. "Our law firm will be able to respond once attorneys have had an opportunity to review the lawsuit."

The suits are seeking unspecified amounts of punitive damages from Long on various counts, ranging from negligence to breach of fiduciary duty.

Update: 9/22/2010: Here's Number Three

From: Allvoices.com

A 3rd person has filed suit against Bishop Eddie Long, at the Dekalb County court, accusing him of using his power as pastor and mentor, to seduce him into having sexual relations with him, states CNN.
23 year old Jamal Parish, from the same church, has alleged that Long has been having sexual encounters with him since he was 16 years old and lasted until he was 22, which was last year.
CNN reports that a spokesperson has informed the media that Bishop Long will hold a press conference on Thursday morning to answer these allegations.

Some have been asking if sexual abuse took place, why didn't the young men seek prosecution. The legal age for consensual sex in Georgia, is 17. 2 of 3 accusers say they were 17 and older when the alleged sexual misconduct started, which may be the reason for the civil lawsuits instead.
One, however, is alleged to have been 16 when the sexual escapades started. According to the lawsuit, he reportedly received a Chevy malibu, was taken on lavish trips to the Turks & Caicos and was even put on the church payroll.

Didn't I just say, let the evidence speak for itself. The Lord will reveal all now won't he?

I would like to add that even though there has been speculation for years regarding this, I pray with ALL that is within me that these stories are untrue. This would be a travesty upon the countless children and families that looked to this ministry and to the cause of Christ and the black church in general. There are many lessons that can be learned BUT I hope that learning that one cannot mix sin with righteousness IS NOT one of them.

Blessed!

  1. CNN reports that the lawyer B.J. Bernestine, claimed that Eddie Long had a "Covenant" ceremony with one of the victims named Anthony, and used biblical stories telling him to "follow his leader". Gave him a Mustang, money and free tickets to travel with Bishop.

Both boys in this suit wanted to be in the music business. Eddie Long gave them introductions and an open door to the stars. They drive the Bentley and receive many gifts over time.

One of the mother's said that she was glad to have her son, Maurice, around the Bishop and gladly allowed the Bishop to have her child around often thinking that he was helping her child gain integrity in life.

Question: Why these two? Where is the pohysical evidence? All are only allegations at this point. These boys do risk liable and slander and the lawyer risks her license if this is frivolous...This is something.

  2. Pastor did you notice on the video that one of the young men that he is accused of having sexual relations with was arrested in June for breaking into Eddie Long's office. I saw this in the article.

In June, (Maurice) Robinson was arrested and charged with burglary in connection with a break-in to Long's office. An iPhone, iPad and other items -- more than $1,300 worth -- were taken from the office, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

On Tuesday, Bernstein said the theft was Robinson's attempt to retaliate against the pastor. She said that once Robinson began telling others about his experience with Long, "he realized he wasn't the only one."

"It made [Robinson] angry," she said.

This sort of reminds of the Tiger Woods situation. Nobody knew anything about what was going on with him until he wrecked his SUV. After that the flood gates opened and all hell broke loose in his life.

  3. Praiser4life,

I was noticing the same thing that what this looks like is that someone got mad or angry at the other, but for what cause? Was someone a "jilted" lover, or was there some sort of shakedown gone wrong.

In my mind we still come down to this, tangible, physical evidence...If these guys were doing this with Long, there should be some physical evidence and to me, having a job (by which one can have money) doesn't cut it.

This case will show either extreme greed or extreme lust. In either case all we seem to have here is flesh and a bunch of ungodly actions.

  4. Hey Dist. Supt.! You knew I'd respond.

Eddie's lil DL story is typical: all ain't fair in LOVE.

I know too well about being in an committed intimate/sexual relationship with a pastor and a few hours later he's preaching anti-gay rhetoric from the pulpit. Yeah, it makes you angry. So angry there are moments you can only see red and revenge. I can relate!

Seriously, Eddie got too caught up/involved and the boy(s) fell in love; 3 guys so far have filed suites against pastor Long. And more will surface.

Poor Anthony Flagg, now 21, moved into a home owned by another New Birth pastor when he was a high school junior, according to the law suit, where Long would sometimes share a bed with him. Flagg was eventually put on the church's payroll, his suit alleges, with Long personally delivering his checks.

Flagg's suit says that Long presided over a spiritual "covenant" ceremony between the two of them.

"It was essentially a marriage ceremony, with candles, exchange of jewelry, and biblical quotes," Bernstein said Tuesday. "The bishop [told] him I will always have your back and you will always have mine."

Bravo! Another long-time hypocrite finally exposed

  5. ausfahrt,

    What's happening my friend?

Help me and us with this though...I am unfamiliar with the concept that a man can grope and do sexual things with another man and not consider themselves to be gay...

I look at it like this...if one feels the need to touch a man in a sexual way, then that's an indicator that one is gay!

Do you think that there's any possibility that Long (if he's guilty which I hope not) and others who do such for "kicks" DO NOT consider themselves to be gay?

And this is no trick question or something I'm going to try to blas you on...it's an honest inquiry because I can't see why one would rally against something while doing that something unless he/she didn't think they were doing what they were rallying against.

  6. Pastor Burnett you remember Jimmy Swaggart and most recently Ted Haggard, they protested to much...My question is why young boys, why not old crusty men like themselves...

  7. Oregonsistah,

4-real...Now Swaggart is coming back. He picked up Bishop GE's old slot on BET on Sunday AM. That was a long time slot with Temple OF Deliverance and he wants to capitalize. In addition, he's got a new TV network that he's promoting. Howbeit Swaggart didn't deal with boys or men and was never given to the faith and prosperity message as some of these are today...

I simply wonder about these fellas who do all this and yet claim to be straight...Is there a disconnect or is this just a game for them? They have GOT to know that this mess is coming out and they'll get caught eventually...

    ReplyDelete
  8. Now, I have another question, what about these lesbian women pastors and evangelists? I know they are there we can see them too, but are they approaching it the same way?

    This is a mess...

  9. "This is a mess"

    YOu can say that again.

I was watching Today this morning and they showed a picture that Eddie Long sent to one of the young men. He is in some body suit tight black thingy!?

I always thought something was strange about a "man of God" wearing tight clothing, the s curl or whatever it is didnt help either.

man was never meant to get the Glory. It is not his and for sure man cannot handle it without thinking too much of themselves and abusing their authority.

It always amazes me how CARNAL folk can't wait for a chance to cast a stone whether right or wrong...Things are not always what they "appear" to be..... so don't be quick to judge.... you may say things you might have to take back..... and that could be a mouth full!"A lie can travel around the world
while the truth is just putting on its shoes." When a person ask God to forgive them for sin ...why is it so hard for Christians to let it go,and let people get up.AKA Jimmy Swaggart

  11. PJ,

I agree but want to help expand just a little...IF Bishop is exonerated (which I HOPE he will be and is innocent) there is a greater lesson to learn and that lesson involves "excess", ungodly associations and evil communications (interactions)

Now, tell me for a minute that there would be room for the devil to have done this IF the Bishop was living moderately, teaching and exemplifying a spiritual standard or status and simply setting the church forth on biblical and sound principles as a "father" should do?

Jimmy ADMITS his excess and his failure to live before the Lord in both humility and in the cross...He is rising once again like Jim Baaker because I believe they REPENTED...be clear, one need not sin in order to need repentance!!!

The has LONG been out of order...From Long's dress, to what he promotes to obviously who he allows to be in private with him...it's all wrong and IF he did no sin he opened the door wide open for the devil to reek havoc within New Birth and the Black Christian church in general.

There was no semblance of wisdom from a leader calling himself a Bishop...NONE!

these young men are obviously perverts and liars...certainly thieves by their own admission...but are they lying about this??? I don't know, I have my suspicions, but I can only hope they are lying. If so they have a LOT to loose including possible jail time for slander, defamation and damages.

So Please hear me and balance your response looking at the greater picture. This is a TOTALLY unbiblical situation and none of the characters have resembled anything close to a Christ like character. In the least.

    Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  14. PJ,

You asked:"You said "be clear, one need not sin in order to need repentance!!!"...Say what!!Please explain."

    OK

1 Samuel 13:13-14 NIV~[13] "You acted foolishly," Samuel said. "You have not kept the command the LORD your God gave you; if you had, he would have established your kingdom over Israel for all time. [14] But now your kingdom will not endure; the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people, because you have not kept the LORD'S command."

Here Samuel speaks of David right? We know David did dome messed up things and sinned grievously. However his life wasn't constant sin. Yet he was after God's heart in both intent and will to perform God's command.

That can't be done without this verse:

II Chron. 7:14~"14-If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Now do you assume that ALL the people were in sin and had sinned or was God speaking of the collective sin of HIS people and more specifically the nation?

So we see an example of both and individual and a nation called by God into relationship with him. What he requires in both instances is humility and humbling which is a form of repentance which leads to union and fellowship with God.

Repentance does not require sin, it requires humility and the acknowledgement that God is holy and at best we are nothing...

So far as the rest of what you're asking, the EVIDENCE speaks for itself when it's balanced with scripture:

1 Corinthians 15:33~Be not deceived: evil commnications corrupt good manners.

2 Cor.6:14-18 ~"14-Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15- And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16- And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17- Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you, 18- And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."

Tell me IF this picture was sent to anyone other than Long's wife, how does it resemble Christ and fellowship with HIM?

These young men, after being in the presence of a "holy" man of God can only imitate the world like they do in the video, rob the CHURCH and confess their gay sexual and perverted activities???

I need no special inside information...the information is on the table and there's nothing that can change that now.

These are UNGODLY communications and fellowships no matter who's innocent or guilty. SAINTS and people of god DON'T do or engage in these things and i don't care how you try to make it seem as if it's normal, it's ABNORMAL and SICK.

btw: Swaggart sinned over 20 years ago and is making a blessed comeback based on what I'm talking about right here. He has a TV network and has repented and continues to place himself before God. His sin cost him over 20 years. Most of these characters want to sin and get back up and keep going...God is AGAINST that garbage.

If Long didn't sin he needs to repent. He hasn't walked worthy of a Bishop and that's proven by his materialism and ultimately the associations that have trapped him in this case.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Why repent if you did nothing wrong?God and those who are spiritual
restores. If a person is clearly repented should he or she be allowed to get back up? Like I stated before things are not always what they "appear" to be..... so lets hold of on judging this until we know all not just part....be careful that your prejudice doesn't cloud your righteous judgment.

  16. PJ,

Thanks again and I agree with you in many points however, as I stated, whether Long is innocent or guilty, he's violated a principle of leadership and has not walking in the standard that the BIBLE outlines for the office of a Bishop.

1 Tim. 3:1-7~"1-This [is] a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2- A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3- Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4- One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5- (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)6- Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. 7- Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil."

    Then there's this:

Titus 1:6-7~"6-If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. 7- For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; 8- But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; 9- Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers."

The proof that he is in violation of the scripture is the mess itself. It becomes a sort of testament that he has not walked in the ways of the Lord. How do I know? The Lord has promised protection against the lies of the enemy for the righteous (Ps. 91) and help for those who endure persecution.

His persecution is not for the cause of Christ, it is for self and material and flesh and is inspired by flesh.

There is a text trail and inappropriateness at the center whether he's guilty or not this is not a relationship conducive to a healthy church or leadership.

What it is is this, IDOLOTRY, makes individuals find an excuse for the excesses of leaders such as this. This is MAN WORSHIP. People defend his actions no matter what the proof and the indictment against him or those like him is.

  17. Pj,

Secondly, you must come to understand that "repentance" is more deep than merely a confession of sin. The Jewish Encyclopedia does an exhaustive work on it and it means "change" of position or heart. One part of what they say is this:

All are encouraged by God to repent excepting him who sins with the intention of repenting afterward (Yoma viii. 9; comp. Amon), or him who persists in his wickedness (Yoma 86b; Ex. R. xi. 2-3; Midr. Teh. i., end). Repentance is especially useless for him who by his teaching and example has caused others to sin (Ab. v. 26; Sanh. 107b); hence the heavenly voice, "All ye backsliding children repent, except Aḥer" (Elisha b. Abuyah; Ḥag. 15a). Gehazi was not allowed to repent (Soá¹ah 47a). As long as man lives he may repent, but there is no repentance after death, only submissive acceptance of God's punitive justice (Eccl. R. i. 15, vii. 15; Pirke R. El. xliii.; Ruth R. i. 17; Shab. 32a; 'Er. 19a; Yalḳ., Isa. xxvi. 2). Wherefore R. Eliezer said: "Repent one day before death" (Ab. ii. 10)—that is, every day (Shab. 153a; Eccl. R. ix. 8, where the parable of the wise and foolish servants by R. Johanan b. Zakkai is given in illustration). The righteous repent for every sin they have committed (Ex. R. xxiii. 3); the disciple of the wise repents every night for his sin (Ber. 19a; Ḥag. 75a); so Israel is expected to repent in time in order to inherit the future life (Ex. R. xxiii. 11). The heathen, as a rule, do not repent (Pesiḳ. 156a, b); comp. 'Ab. Zarah 3a). "As long as the people are sin-laden they can not be God's children; only when they have repented have they in reality become His children" (Sifre, Num. 112, with reference to Deut. xxxiii. 5; comp. Sifre, Deut. 308).

This is stripping one of one's ego and self reliance. SAINTS should do this regularly even if one cannot identify a person sin (for some reason)

One need not sin to repent before God. As soon as you think you don't need to, then you do.

  18. Supt. Barnett, I in no way am trying to correct you, and I do this with the upmost respect. But you make mention of 1 Samuel 13:13-14. And you said that Samuel was taking to david but that is incorrect he was actually talking to King Saul who had made sacrifices unto the Lord for selfish reasons thus Samuel rebuked him and told King Saul that his kingdom would no longer continue. I'm not trying to call you out or anything like that just letting you know sir...sorry....

  19. Minister Brandon,

Thanks my friend for helping me to slow down and explain...the last part "the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people, because you have not kept the LORD'S command."

Was in reference to david who was NOT King at that immediate time but was Kind in God's eyes and would be appointed King.

I kind of glossed over it but Samuel was talking to Saul about his disobedience and what it cost him.

I hope that clarifies things. Thank you for telling me to slow down, I realize I can run a little fast at times.

I also realize that most people haven't thought about "repentance" outside of the context of sin so that may well be a new concept to some. Obviously it is to PJ.

Think about it however, there is a time when a person hasn't done wrong to another but yet must "repent" for maybe something that was said or done that wasn't a sin to GOd but it wasn't right to do...

  21. Sometimes we get blinded by trying to make a point that we miss the truth or the questions and statements that were made. When a mans heart is indifferent to God it causes that man to be disobedient, which in turn is sin.

Rom 10:9,10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Concerning the other matter as I stated before things are not always what they "appear" to be..... so lets hold of on judging this until we know all not just part....be careful that your prejudice doesn't cloud your righteous judgment.

    1 Corinthians 6:1-8.

"Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

Lets be careful that carnality does not creep in unaware.....

  22. You said "Think about it however, there is a time when a person hasn't done wrong to another but yet must "repent" for maybe something that was said or done that wasn't a sin to God but it wasn't right to do"...Seriously?....I have to tell you the scriptures you gave do not support your point and this statement is truly out there.....thanks for the dialogue though...stay thirsty my friend(for God of course).

    ReplyDelete
  23. PJ,

Carnality created and got the Bishop into this scenario along with these young men. So that's where the council regarding carnality should go and be...

So far as repentance, have you never not sinned but been in discord with anyone??? What about having gone left when someone requested that you go right...Then coming back and apologizing, and changing your course of direction...now, did you sin when you went left??? Of course not. However when you corrected your course or complied, did you change???

    Obviously YES!

This is a type of example although it doesn't fully hit the emphasis of what biblical repentance is. Biblical repentance covers more than simply repentance from sin...it is a turning from aligning with self and flesh...

This is a simple yet difficult concept to grasp if you approach repentance with a single minded fundamental. Biblical repentance was always greater than that. In fact the time when Israel did not live in humility (which is a characteristic of repentance) they failed to please God, fell into sin and even damaged others.

No matter how things "look" regarding this case, the Bishop and the boys have shamed God period!

Bishop HAS NOT exemplified the example of a Bishop as specified within and according to scripture and these young men, while claiming to be saved have exemplified their disdain for righteousness and the church by their actions...

Now YOU can't have it both ways...all you say is be careful, things are not as they appear to be...No matter what side you're on SOMEBODY is wrong...BOTH can't be right it's plain and simple...

So please, don't try to assert that I am blind in any way...I think i see this much more clearly than you regarding the issue all together.

Now it sounds as if you've spent time at either New Birth or with the Bishop...I would like you to expound on your relationship and point to facts that you think favor whichever individuals that you believe are not guilty.

As stated both sides are disappointments biblically, even if one is only guilty of biblical sin ALL need to repent.

    ReplyDelete
  24. @Supt. Barnett yes sir! It seems I was the one who was incorrect sorry sir!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Biblical repentance is all I am talking about everything else is irrelevant......The scripture you were talking about in Titus shows how Paul left Titus behind to build stable churches with mature, qualified pastors for the people. Titus had to find and train capable leaders for the Christians of the island of Crete.Paul delegated a lot of authority to Titus. These elders were not chosen by popular vote, and they were not chosen through their own self-promotion. It was Titus’ job to look for men of the kind of character Paul would describe in the following passage and to appoint them as elders in congregations. They were only QUALIFICATIONS for the office it did not imply that someone would never falsely accuse or even slander your name to make it appear as thou you were not that person once you were in that office.

Mat 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Mat 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Mat 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Does this pertain to this man?

John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

I am amazed how you are quick to judge my relationship with the bishop as if that mattered wow..... I am not a friend of Bishop, nor am I member of his church, nor do I watch his broadcast just a believer in Christ.... Rightly divide the word my friend and walk by faith not by sight.Again don't let your prejudiced against this man cloud your judgment.

Shamed God?God is not shamed by the actions of men.Men shame themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  26. PJ,

You said:"They were only QUALIFICATIONS for the office it did not imply that someone would never falsely accuse or even slander your name to make it appear as thou you were not that person once you were in that office."

First, it would seem that you are limiting these qualifications to only qualifications. These were lifestyle requirements not simply job qualifications.

You see, these people, biblically speaking didn't encourage a double standard of life. One to get in the office and another weaker and more liberal version once a person was in. That is a ridiculous framing of the setting and what was happening and going on in the NT church.

Then you quote a scripture including: Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake:

You mean to tell me that, sending body/catsuit text messages to anyone (other than a spouse) is "righteousness"? You mean to tell me that flying all over the country with young boys, in hotel rooms without their parents and obviously with a whole bunch of extra-curricula activities, that can be verified by the records that have been presented is "righteousness"???

    PJ what are you on?

There is NOTHING about this suit that entails "righteousness". Being persecuted for righteousness is about setting forth the plan of God in a city, church and community or nation and being rejected and ridiculed....That's RIGHTEOUSNESS!!! NOT being sued for sexual improprieties by 4 young men (or anyone for that matter)

There is NOTHING about this fiasco that resembles a biblical persecution. this is happening because people were liberal and did not fear the Lord plain and simple. NO young person in my church can say that they have been alone with me in an intimate setting EVER!!! No adult female has been alone with me in a setting where there was not readily someone else, whether my wife or another appointee of the church, alone for ANY REASON!

In EVERY in home visit, I am out BEFORE the sun sets unless my family is present and on the spot...

This man and these boys epitomize UNRIGHTEOUSNESS...I regret that you cannot distinguish the difference between biblical righteousness and true holiness and this farce of a TV example that has been perpetrated upon the church and the people of God.

Since you have yet to understand what biblical repentance is...examine THIS POST For much greater detail as I outline the FACT that the bible declares that God himself REPENTED, BUT that repentance WASN'T because of sin and unrighteousness, neither did it lead him to penance, it led GOd to a change of course of action...that's repentance at heart. Not all repentance is due, by and because of sin. SINCE you value what the bible says, you will plainly and clearly see that.

Long needs to REPENT because his actions and course must change to represent Christ. It is not limited to this scandal...Whether he is in sin or not will be seen, but he should have repented long ago.

1Cr 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 1Cr 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
1Cr 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
    13:4 Charity suffereth long,and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 1Cr 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

  29. PJ,

Please stop being silly...Long's spokespeson has already tried to explain why the pictuures were sent to the BOYS!!!

It takes nerve to talk about the love of Christ when your idol has proven to be lacking in that are and in love withh flesh and materialism...Was he talking about the love of Christ when he was taking these boys around in various hotels or allowing them to drive his car like he's a opimp daddy??? TSee that's what the "ballers" do to get the cred they need...that's NOT what a mand of God does...

Who drives my car? My wife and myself!

Who do I take places and buty a hotel room for? My wife and kids.

What do preachers who value their relationship with Christ do to safegard the hint of inpropriety? TYhey make themselves accountable to GOd, family and their church...

You should be upset...upset that this type of lifestyle, even if innocent, is perpetrated on society as being something even CLOSE to being acceptable to God.

What you feel is on you not me...shoot a flock of Geese in the air and the one shot will fall...sorry you take it personally...after 30 years of service with all of my faults, failures, victories and successes, I have a right to be incensesd by this mess.

All Christian are damaged by this garbage especially at a time when the black community is already in shambles.

The question is how can the Love of Christ be in you and all you can care about is image management and who did what? The WHOLE THING is messed up!

  30. Pro 14:16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

Pro 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

Pro 20:3 It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.

Pro 23:9 Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.

    1. Well, that is kind of like asking, should we drink water because Flint's was poisoned? The flaws of the men and persons referenced has no bearing on trusting the "church" when it is considered that God has a group that he has called out from among the world that do not do what is outlined in the article. Just like there is a good water to drink, in spite of poisoned water, there is a good and effective and obedient church or people that God has called.

Yea, you're from Debunking...you argue like it! And that is no compliment...

    2. Ooh, and one more thing here...I'll take the church and all its flaws ANYDAY over a materialistic paradigm of a never ending and purposeless death culture of atheism. Atheists are certainly strong. Anyone would have to be to put themselves through such mental torture and blatant self denial.
