The New American Nation...Just What Does A Statue Represent?

I almost don't know where to begin on this one. Like some of my articles that deal with what can only be deemed as low-class scum, there is so much scum to go around regarding this, that I could write for a year or two or more. I've debated whether to simply do a youtube or an article. I think I will do both... 

Although I really don't want to spend too much time on this I am compelled to do so because my heart bled this week probably more than any other week in my 54 (or is that 53...I wish 42) years of life on this earth. To see murder and have a President equivocate by claiming that racists and white supremacists were "good people" was nearly too much for me to take...But I'll hold that thought for a minute....

I want to first say that what I am talking about here and other places on this issue is not about politics. The politics of the issue is a secondary consideration IF it is a consideration at all. What I am talking about here is MORALITY. The difference between right and wrong. We all know there was "something" wrong about all of the events that occurred in Charlottesville, VA. on the campus of UVA, which is a fine institution of higher learning, but some don't know what was wrong or why it was wrong. However, that didn't stop the alarm from going off telling us that somethings is and was not quite right.   

First Our Condolences & Thanks

Our hearts go out to the family of Heather Heyer who died fighting for a just cause and protesting against radical racial hate. I have been praying for her Mom and Dad, family members and the community of Charlottesville, but our words cannot express the sorrow enough for their loss, but thank God that the Heyer's had a child that used her life in a extraordinarily worthy manner! Like Momma said, her voice just got bigger! 

The Low-Life Backdrop

I don't have to rehearse the story, but I do want to note that Heather died when a rank idiot of the king of hate groups and community terrorists, the ku klux klan, with members of other versions of White supremacist groups, decided that the cause of being White and in control was greater than life itself and especially the life of anyone else...

Now, I want all the sympathizers and supporters of this "many sides" GARBAGE that "Dumb Donald" floated at the behest of his closest, now fired and Britebart rehired, IDIOT "advisor", Steve Bannon, (which is a name that I won't mention again on this site) to simply SHUT-UP and GET REAL!!!! (I can hear it now, "pastor that's so non-Christian"...to which I ask, is it "Christian" to justify killing for statue nostalgia? Or to say that individuals being victimized by terrorists, who came to protest in full riot gear, with weapons including knives and guns, have no right to stand for themselves? Figure that out, then let's talk about being a "Christian"!)

Please know that I don't believe that anything can be said to justify the murder of this young lady and the injury of the others who stood against a rank and ratchet display of hate...And I will never understand, how some have added insult to injury, including the President himself, by concluding that preservation of a statue(s), erected to remind people of oppression (slavery and white superiority)  and oppressors (slave owners and those who indiscriminately thought of human beings as property and equal to animals) and of "good old times" in the "land of cotton". and a reversion to "Dixie's Land" pride; can include some "good people". (Ooh by the way, did I mention that these 'good people" were raining down fire and hate on Jews and Blacks?) I fail to understand how anything that the klan did that day or any other day, can justify hailing and admiring them or their values. Can neo-nazis be "admired" for their stance and glorification of the atrocities of killing Jews under hellion hitler?

Mission Accomplished 

I will say this however, they accomplished what they wanted to accomplish...They wanted to see if they could still get away with a modern day open murder and that murder be sanctioned by the state. This is at the same time when Black people are getting killed at mere traffic stops. However, these klansmen and people like them who come to rallies with guns and knives, tested the resolve of the system, which only arrested ONE of them as far as we know, and unfortunately their test proved that they can STILL come into neighborhoods and communities, reek havoc on anyone they wish and receive sanction from the state and even from the chief White House idiot himself! 

This is SHAMEFUL and whosoever supports it, should REPENT!!!!  

Immoral Equivalence & The New American Nation

From the murderous rally the Daily Caller reports: 

“We’re here to protect white identity, white culture, white heritage, and we’re here to promote the new American nation that is currently under construction,”...“We’re not just white nationalists, because we believe in more than just a white nation,”...“We want a nation of values, of heritage, of culture. We don’t want just borders with white people inside. We strive for more than that.”...“We’re more than that, we’re fascists,”...“We believe in a strong centralized government. We believe in unity and strength among its people.”

Is The "white culture" somehow separate from American culture? When did that happen? Then, is it so scarce that it needs to be "protected"? If so, from who and by whom? Are the kkk and other White supremacist groups somehow the vanguard of this culture and the deliverer of this "new nation"? Then what of government? Is America full of fascists? Are we now a fascist nation? Let's define what he claimed to be politically:

Fascism: A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, a capitalist economy subject to stringent governmental controls, violent suppression of the opposition, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.

That is fascism. Remember, this was the same system that ultra conservatives on the radio such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck claimed about former President Obama. They said Obama was a fascist and they all wanted to fight directly against him and it. As Hannity said over and over, his job was to make Obama "a one term President" (which didn't exactly work out)...To the point, this, being a fascist, is exactly what Thomas (cited above) claimed to be and what the group(s) that he was representing is. Now, I want to know is that a good thing? Could this be in part what all of this was about? A "new" national identity as fascists?

In other words, the more we hear and the more we see and uncover, the whole unite right rally was never about a statue as D Donald and the rally organizers tried to make us believe that it was.

They tried to seduce us to believe that it was about defacing our parks or removing statues and icons of people who were slavers, from society and changing our history. None of that was true to any degree. It was about history. It was about nostalgia and even honor for a system that was rejected by true and sustainable American values and the veneration of characters and the horrible history that those characters represent.

D Donald inflamed a nation with his absurd view of moral equivalence claiming that there was some "good' in a crowd of people disturbing the community and aggressively placing hatred on Blacks and Jews. He claimed that there was wrong on "many sides" while simultaneously equating a Nazi rally and chants against Blacks and Jews with those who oppose those views and want peace and freedom for all Americans. Don;t get me wrong., I have no affinity for the ultimate goals of the BLM movement and anarchy in general, but there was much more to this than that. Like Pastor James McDonald said...well hear him for yourself:

To that we say AMEN and bring this part of a total American nightmare and fiasco to a close...HOPEFULLY!!!!

Does Black Justice Exist In The Criminal Justice System?

Although I have tried to refrain from an indepth commentary, and don't plan on spending a lot of time on the subject, because there is far too much work to do within the church when addressing mindsets and stereotypes of victimization and abuse, I couldn't really go without at least addressing some of the issues surrounding the killing of Trayvon Martin at the hands of George Zimmerman and Mr. Zimmerman's subsequent not guilty verdict. 

In all that has been said and done over the last year or so and through the verdict of this trial, we have heard some pretty polarizing statements and sentiments on both sides of the issue. We have seen people say that Trayvon should have simply gone home, or that George should not have stalked, yet alone, killed Trayvon (a sentiment to which I agree) and it seems that admonitions on at least what should have happened run along racial and ethnic lines.

In my mind this only further solidifies the understanding that America is divided into casts or sects and that

there are at least two philosophical views of America within the USA. There is an America whose systems and laws are fashioned for the people, and there is an America whose systems and laws are USED against certain of her own people. Although both of these Americas exist together; they even entertain one another, they do not exist in union with one another no matter how much they may appear to do so. Then there is an underlying mistrust, distrust and broken union among many of America's citizens that live in her everyday. This has caused much recent and modern controversy as we all remember the sentiments of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright who instead of saying "God bless America" said, "...God dxxx America, for what she has done..."

Can these things simply be written off as mainstream White dominated media wish to do with such sentiments? Can they or should they be simply be disavowed for political and mass social appeal? Are we experiencing a reemergence of ultra-classism, sectarianism and creedalism? Can we as a people stand it, and how should we address it? 

In this article I would like to look a a few pieces to the current puzzle in America. I don't think it is a debate in any other civilized nation that there is something wrong when an adult (or anyone else for that matter) stalks another person who is doing nothing wrong, and ultimately confronts and kills them, that an offence has occurred. But somehow part of America feels that the opinion in favor of death for the Black youth is somehow justified and understandable to whatever degree....

Illinois SLUTS for Obama bring "SLUT Buttons" to DNC

Politics has hit an all time new LOW

In and advertising campaign that would potentially embarrass even Velvet Jones, a feminist delegation from Illinois  of the Democratic National Convention has taken the 2012 election campaign to an all new low level of mass and utter confusion. Now for the first time in American history, the feminist movement, in trying to pander for votes, has sold and distributed over 1,000 "SLUT Buttons" with demand and orders for more.

In a move to capitalize on the statements by Rush Limbaugh regarding Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke earlier this year, the "SLUT Buttons" cannot stay stocked as the DNC nears it's opening. Proudly displaying the message that "SLUTS VOTE" with the underlying message "for Obama" the promoters hope to drive home the message that if a women's right to choose is what makes one a slut, then SLUTS they are.

The Ultimate Red Herring 

The ONLY problem with that sentiment, is that it is a totally created and made up argument. It is certainly a diversionary tactic. Rush Limbaugh, didn't blame or call Sandra Fluke a "SLUT" for her "right to choose". According to Sandra's own testimony, she wanted the ordinary citizen (you and me) to pay for her NON-MEDICALLY NECESSARY contraception,  and testified on Capitol Hill in favor of that provision within what is now called the Affordable Care Act aka: Universal Health Care Law.

Comedian Rush Limbaugh

Sandra believes that instead of paying for her NON-MEDICALLY NECESSARY CONTRACEPTION, that it should be included as a part of the overall benefits of the law. Rush Limbaugh, in response to her testimony reduced her argument in practical terms, and in an over the top fashion, simply said that she (Sandra) should be ashamed because she in essence wanted the common citizen to pay for her ability to have sex. He went on to call her a SLUT based on her desire to make the tax paying citizen a supporter of her sexual activities. His argument was a TRUE argument based on the facts presented.  

So the SLUT part of the conversation and Limbaugh's commentary was never about a "woman's right to choose" it was about the law being used to subvert the American taxpayer, businesses and other institutions into supporting the sexual activities and personal choices of others.

So the feminists from Illinois are at a minimum trying to recast the conversation, by claiming that their opposition thinks that women are SLUTS who believe in "the right to choose".  

Not only is the argument a lie, based on a total fabrication of made up and unsupportable facts, it flies in the face of every rational and sane human being and Democratic woman. Can you believe that being a SLUT is now en-vogue for Democrat women? 

Poor North Carolina...

Not long ago, the citizens of North Carolina stood boldly to say to the President and homo-agenda promoting organizations such as the HRC and others, that they did not want the sexual perversion of homosexual marriage to change their laws. The citizens of North Carolina stood strong and, thank God, they won. 

Now, the state must endure the barrage of people calling themselves SLUTS and saying that they are proud of the designation. What's more, they are calling themselves "SLUTS for Obama", a Black President, when there is already a negative perception of Black men that is a hold over from the Civil Rights era. 

I wonder will our beloved President call Kim Hess of Granite City, IL (the creator of the buttons) and tell her that sentiments such as these "have no place in public discourse"?  

Or will he simply be happy and say, "I'm President Obama and I approved this message, now leave my SLUTS alone!" 

It remains to be seen!!!

The following two videos (and you should be able to see a progression) discuss the recent comments to Sandra Fluke by President Barack Obama and his silence in defending Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman, asking why our President didn't decry the openly spoken continued, misogynistic comments of comedian and atheist Bill Maher. Hate That Only Loves Itself

This blog will not be used to spread hate, dissidence or any other dogma antithetical to a healthy society, community and church.

I thought that I should make that message clear based on information that I recently received. We do not agree with ongoing antagonistic efforts against any individual or person. We challenge, debate and speak of societal issues strongly. We gladly point out problematic doctrine and identify personalities and practices that take advantage of people, society and do the church harm. We continue to identify dogmas and teachings both secular and religious which we feel are detrimental to the growth and the long term sustainability of our families, churches and community, but we decry all forms of hate speech, methodology and public or private violence and dissidence. 

Secular/Religious Ideals & Politics

The Dunamis Word gladly points out political policies which we feel are damaging on any number of levels, but once a case is made, we do not and will not continue to revisit the issues and will not attack personalities in an undue fashion. We do not promote anarchy whether that is public or in the church. Leadership is essential to any community and our purpose is to present ideas that will not only challenge leadership, but also make leaders accountable and ultimately make communities better. We will not be a part of unfounded personal rhetoric or attacks beyond the issues at hand and demand that accusations be accurate, pertinent to the subject and rooted by certain supports such as reasonable logic, or physical proofs.

Our Presidency

Since the election and installation of President Obama there has been an upturn of what is described as religious and political conservatism. This type of conservatism is nothing new, but it has taken a serious turn and become more radical akin to some brands of religious extremism. Recently we received information that was no shorter than hate speech filled with physical threats toward many of our governmental and political leaders. We notified authorities immediately and have placed such information in the proper hands. We decry the proliferation of such sentiments even if they are based on religious dogma and more specifically Christian dogmas or biblical scriptures. The message is clear, neither this blog, nor this author lends his time to destroying our country by wishing evil on it's political and secular leadership. With that said, there are a few things that I would like to address as I have observed what seems to be a circus of activity since the country elected it's first Black President.

Faulty Assumptions:

I: The Myth Of A Christian Nation

The problem is that many religious political conservatives mistakenly assume that America is or was a Christian nation. While there is a ring of truth to that statement we should know that there is not neither has there ever been a Christian nation. A truly Christian nation would never have built itself on the backs of slaves, broken land trusts and undermined hopes. That same Christian nation would not have driven Geronimo's and Cochise's children into Mexico and Canada and then create laws to keep them out when they wish to come back home.

Have You Read This Book?

I don't have an opinion of Jon Stewart as to his comedy. From what I have seen I don't believe that he is a Christian. If so maybe a secular one. However, I am in full agreement with him on his assessment of media elites such as Pat Robertson and Rush Limbaugh and their assessment of the earthquake that has devastated Haiti. Yes, I think that both Robertson and Limbaugh were off base, not biblically centered and totally wrong in their assessments and approach. I don't expect Limbaugh to get it right. He doesn't claim to know the word of the Lord. However, I certainly expect more of someone who says they know or understand God and his nature and dealings toward man.

We may not know the why, but we should know the who and As I maintain that who was not and is not the God that we serve.

When The King Of Kings Calls

They Called Him "The King Of Pop"

On Tuesday July 7th 2009 the world gathers to say goodbye to what one could consider the most controversial and renowned entertainer and person in modern history. Michael Jackson (August 25th 1958 ~ June 25th 2009) is celebrated by many as the greatest performer that ever lived. The facts are that no one in history has sold more albums than Michael in his lifetime (estimated over 750 million) or has been so widely accepted all over the world for both his entertainment acumen, dedication to perfection in performance and his humanitarian efforts. In 1985 those humanitarian efforts brought together more entertainers and singers in one singular event "We Are The World", than any other effort in modern times raising over $50 Million in economic Aid to Africa.

Although there are many things that could be said about Michael, our intent in this article by addressing the issue of his life and death, is not to adore, worship or admire him as most of the world and even many Christians have done during this time. Neither is our intent to bash his character or his works as they speak for themselves both good and bad. Michael's works have gone before him as he has stood before his maker to give an account of himself and his deeds, whether they were for Christ and to HIS glory, or to the glory of self and humanity. One thing is for sure, eternity's stage will not be shared by Michael or anyone else; Jesus alone is the epitome of all worship and all eternity.

I thought to initiate conversation on at least 3 issues and addressing those issues to the church in general, hoping to ask the church, especially them that are hailing Michael's entertainment successes as God's gifts, to examine its position in light of what was obviously seen by all during this man's lifetime.

Evolution To Effeminence

Having been a child of the Michael Jackson era, I admired him since my early youth. "Rockin' Robin" and "Got To Be There" (early 70's){I was 7 to 8 years old} were songs fit for me and my understanding and were among the first hits that caught my attention. At that time Michael was clearly a black youth like me: brown, smiley, lots of potential and seemingly loving life to the fullest. I had no idea that some 36 to 37 years later, that that brown complexion would be nearly white, that smile would become strained, that expression would be exhausted, and all that potential would be restricted to a stage presence and performances. Aside from all those changes, I find that one of the most disturbing things about Michael was his development into what appears to be a feminine character.

The theories on this evolution from male to female appearance range from Michael's trying to avoid looking like his father, to Michael trying to appeal to the greatest range of audience possible to radical plastic surgery gone bad. Now, whatever the reason, that was Michael's choice to make. However, I cannot fathom any religious leader exhibiting praise for Michael without also noting and reaffirming that if at all medically possible, a man should look like and remain a man all of his life and not only for a portion of it.

Now, the word effeminate {Gk. malakov}as used in 1 Cor. 6:9 {Discussed HERE}comes into effect IF Michael was trying to appeal to those who either were trying to take advantage of him sexually or those whom he wished to appeal to that preferred men with feminine looks. It's hard to imagine that a man would prefer to look like a woman without some motivating factor. That leads into our next observation:

Extensive Verbal & Psychological Abuse
Does The End Justify The Means?

As we have both seen and read, Mr. Joseph Jackson, the head of the family, was an intense and shrewed business man when it came to music. According to available records and statements some that even Michael made himself, Mr. Jackson was not only a disciplinarian, but he also, at times, crossed into the area of verbal and borderline physical abuse. I think Michael made his thoughts known regarding his father over the years by wresting management of his brand away from Mr. Jackson almost as soon as he possibly could, and also placing what many thought was damaging information in the screen production mini-series "The Jacksons, The American Dream", Some say that a strong indicator of how Michael thought about his father is found in his father's exclusion from his will. To be fair, noone has any idea of who controls trust assets and by law those records cannot be made to become public. So Mr. Jackson could very well be included in much that we don't know.

Nevertheless, stories have been told that Michael's father consistently criticized his son saying that his nose was "too big" or that he was deficient in some other way. In fact as a sign of an obvious disconnect, when Mr. Jackson was asked at the June 28th 2009 BET Awards for his feelings and comments regarding his son's death, he responded by saying, "We've just lost the biggest superstar in the world" then he went on to introduce his new music production joint venture. During that interview he never referred to Michael as his son, only a "star" and "superstar". This came across to me as being self-centerd.

These type of sentiments can cause an individual to lose or never come to their own identity. It was already problematic enough that Michael didn't have a true childhood. It would seem that the abuse of Joseph Jackson set the stage that no matter what was achieved by Michael, wouldn't be satisfactory or appeasing to his own conscience in any manner because his father had never taken the time to affirm him or his manhood.

Do the results of stardom justify the means of abuse? It seems that now is an opportune time for the church to set forth the difference between verbal abuse and biblical discipline. Wholesome discipline is essential in the life of growing children but abuse is an unacceptable reality that many of our children face daily and struggle to overcome. Being told that one is: too short, too fat, too stupid, ugly, too dark, incapable of learning, slow, mentally challenged etc. are all labels that tend to hurt and when combined with memory over a long period of time, create prisons within the mind that people sometimes grow and live in for a lifetime. Mr. Jackson seemed to have forged an inescapable prison for Michael by which death would be his only liberator.

Amazingly, this type of abuse occurs and many of us sit silently as we did with the Jackson family, while it happens. Sometimes it's from a coach, who crosses the line with personal attacks toward a student athlete. Sometimes it's from a teacher who mocks and criticizes the efforts of a student in front of the whole class. Other times it's from family member such as Joseph Jackson, who drives others to fulfill their vision of what they weren't able to achieve. Still other times it's from a Pastor or church member who excludes certain individuals from activities because they aren't the favored "family" or named individual within the church. The message should be that abuse of all kinds is not an acceptable standard and is not worthy to be praised. Some argue that the "abuse" made Michael rich. I would only say that "riches" aren't worth the value of a soul and that I am sorry that Michael had to endure such hardship in this life at any cost.

Issues Of Pedophilia

The worst time in the life of Michael was his 10 count indictment that was levied against him in Santa Barbara County, California in 2004. Going back to Mr. Joseph Jackson again, it must be said that Mr. Jackson was front and center with Michael every day during the worst time of his Michael's life.

Many continue to say that Michael was guilty of the charges of sexual molestation and abuse against the children at his Neverland Ranch. In addition to the jury finding and pronouncing him innocent, I find that there are additional very compelling reasons to believe that Michael was innocent of the charges against him in that indictment.

On his radio segment the week of June 30th 2009, talk show host Rush Limbaugh, when responding to the accusations of one of his callers against Michael, said that he had read the full indictment against Michael Jackson and heard the resulting testimony and concluded that the complete case was a waste of the courts time and was only brought about as an effort to simply extort money from Michael. He acknowledged, as most do, that Michael had a terrible disconnect of what was appropriate in adults sharing sentiments with children, but assured his audience, that there was never a case against Jackson, and what case that did exist was only driven by a frenzied media fishing for the worst and most sensational type of situation. (Similar to the current Debra Rowe encouragements to file for custody even against Michael's expressed wishes for the children within his will)

What makes Mr. Limbaugh's statements especially interesting and certainly worth considering is that Rev. Al Sharpton on his daily radio show, as late as Friday July 3rd, said the same thing. All week long Rev. Sharpton has stated his support for the remaining Jackson family and plainly noted that he was also at the Jackson trial in support of Michael daily, hearing the testimony for himself and finding that the case was a complete sham from the start. If anyone knows these two personalities, there has not been a lot historically over which they have agreed, and on Michael Jackson and the issue of pedophilia, especially as it pertains to a case that seemingly broke Michael's spirit, both of these men agree 100% that Michael was rightfully exonerated of all charges.

When The King Of Kings Calls

The ultra fundamentalist will read this post and think that it has nothing to do with the church. Quite the contrary is true. Michael was fed the false doctrine of a non Christian cult since his youth. The Jehova's Witness group as formulated by Charles Tays Russell was built on rejecting the biblical Christ and creating their own version of Christ who wasn't God and that didn't raise bodily from the grave. No doubt these false teachings were among the first religious concepts that began to shape Michael's mind and life as they were given by his mother whome he valued and honored greatly. Then there were others such as the Nation Of Islam, who entrapped Jermaine and are certainly not focused on Jesus as Lord and savior. In the end, it seemed that Michael was a universalist/humanist/pantheist seeking advice from mystics and non biblically centered teachers such as Deepak Chopra who holds to the pantheistic view of hinduism and the New Enlightenment. There was certainly no help for Michael in any of these teachings.

Even though Marvin Winan and The Winans sung with Michael on the song, "Man In The Mirror" which may have been an excellent opportunity to reach his soul, it seems that the true church was either too busy or too disconnected to really help Michael overcome the terrible hand that he was dealt in life. I don't assume that the Winans didn't try, but I simply believe that many more also had the opportunity. I simply wonder did they take it? Or did they only like the recognition of the worlds "superstar"?

Every King of this earth will be subject to the call of the King of Kings and will be without excuse as to thei spiritual position and place. As noted, I don't join the chorus of praisers as it pertains to Michael Jackson and his work, but neither do I join the crowd of cynics that seem to be happy that a soul has been lost. God certainly didn't make a mistake in the process so we can only praise HIM for HIS wisdom. I only stop to remember Michael for what he meant to me as I was growing up and respect and pray for his family that they will find the peace necessary to live a truly abundant life for Jesus, and turn from sin embracing truth and righteousness.

At the end of the day, we can travel the whole world and everyone everyplace can adore us, but there is none greater than God and ONLY what's done for Jesus Christ will last. All the material benefits and popularity amassed in this life cannot replace meeting God in peace.

Mark 8:34-38 ~"34-And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 35-For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. 36-For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37-Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 38-Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."

If I wish anything, I only wish that there could have been a better end to the life of Michael Jackson. As a church we should be challenged to do even more to win souls and not be enamoured with names, titles, recognition and money. There is a world that is lost and suffering no matter how much money fame and accolades that they have, they yet need the Gospel of Jesus Christ to set them free from their sins and their sometimes terrible past. Church we have a great mission and a great responsibility.
