The Lord's Greatest Gift ~ Christmas 2021

At the Dunamis Word JESUS is still the reason for the season! HE is the Lord's greatest gift given to US to save us from sin! May your celebrations of HIM and family gatherings be especially blessed.

Isaiah 9:6 ~ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

From me to you!

Unto Us A Son Is Given!

This was originally published on this blog Dec. 25th, 2014, I thought it would be good to take another look at this one, for it is still timely.

Also, as our Jewish friends celebrate Hannukah, (the miracle of lights) we are reminded that JESUS is the LIGHT OF THE WORLD that will NEVER go out. HE has come to save not only the Jewish people but also the whole world from their sins. As we celebrate HIM, we invite every Jew, Muslim, Hindu and everyone of every faith and creed to celebrate this light along with us!

Merry Christmas To All!

I would like to wish to all a very Merry and Blessed Christmas. I know that there are so many things happening in this world and there great burdens tied to and upon many of us, but thank god that we are not alone and or without hope. We give gifts today in honor of the greatest gift that God has given to us, his SON Jesus Christ!

Unto Us A Son Is Given! Pt. 2

(Con't From Part 1 Of this Mini-series)

Almah: This word occurs 7 times in the OT scriptures. Although it is difficult to follow this word, we find that it never means anything that “bethulah” does not mean. In fact we find that the use of Almah is a more specific term than “bethulah”

Almah appears to deal more with “childbearing age or ability” rather than physical condition of the person. Further, the LXX (Greek Old Testament) translates this word in Isaiah 7:14 as “Parthenos”, which is a further and more specific way in which to say “virgin” in the Greek.

Parthenos is a Greek word that applies in nearly every instance and context, to the marriageable age, or qualification for marriage by maturity. The word applies to both male and females.

For example we find that it applies to men in Revelation 14:4:
“These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. (Parthenoi) These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.”
1- The use of this word by Isaiah was more specific than Bethulah would have been. Almah appears to pin down the specified detail of the context. It suggests more strongly than bethulah the following things:
a- The woman or person was young
b- The woman or person was of marriageable age
c- The woman or person was always single and never married
d- The woman had not been “defiled” through previous or prior sexual activity

Christmas 2011 ~ The Lesser god Thesis

Merry Christmas To All As We Celebrate The Miraculous Birth Of Our Lord And Savior Jesus Christ
We Look Forward To A Blessed And Prosperous New Year!

As we examine the birth if Jesus it is more important for the believer to remember who Jesus was as it pertains to his inception and entrance into the world in a physical form.

As in mid to late Second Century there was a controversy swirling over exactly how Jesus was divine. At the  Council Of Nicea in 325 AD Arianism was condemned as a heresy. Arius (250-336 AD) taught that Jesus was a "lesser god" and was a created being, a personification of wisdom (Prov. 8:22) whom God the father used as an agent to create the world. In other words all creation was through Jesus but he was not necessarily the architect of creation and no matter how far back his existence was pushed, the existence of the Father preceded his. This whole theology has not only led to a whole host of confusions, but also to one that is called the lesser god thesis by some in theological circles.
