Was Charlie Kirk's Death In God's Plan?

Persons filled with evil and led by demons and demonic influences are celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk. Not surprised because this is what evil principalities and devils do. They think that by killing the visionary, they kill the vision. These are the same ones and the same type of spirits, personalities and enemies who celebrated the crucifixion of Jesus. They knew only part of the story and believed what the religious leaders told them to believe about Jesus, and of course, the lie spread much faster than truth, because evil hearts love a lie. However, in Jesus case, God's PLAN was that HE would die, for the sins of the world and that the world be saved through his death and shedding of his blood for the remission of our sins.
Although, the church, had no reason to exist and grow, except it be for the God of truth, grew into the largest religious belief in modern history.
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. ~ 2 Cor. 5:21
Unlike Drake, who knows absolutely nothing about God's plan, it was in the plan of God that Jesus would die for our sins and rise again on the third day!

These are my recent statements posted on the subject of "God's Plan":
There was a particular fool mocking saying that we, Christians, should be happy
because of Charlie's death because this was "in God's plan"...This is my response to that sentiment:

First, even in her mockery, she wasn't wrong. God wasn't caught by surprise by this and he does have a plan. His PLAN was fulfilled in Charlie Kirk's life and did HE use him to HIS glory?!
The PLAN includes us, as fellow Christians and believers, uniting and engaging the community with the gospel like never before. The PLAN includes us, like a relay team at baton handoff, taking what was given to us through this young man's life and running like our life and the life of the community relies upon it, because we are close to the end. The PLAN includes us showing why sin and sexual perversion , gender mutilation, the murder of children and other forms of deviant sexuality is wrong and not God's best for us and why such things defile the very image of God in which we are created. The PLAN includes us taking up things from where we are, doing all we can to build our family and community on Christian, biblical values and true notions of freedom, justice and love.

So, unlike many...I would agree. We should accept the plan of God, but she and those like her should be careful, because the PLAN of God has given her a staunch warning to turn from her sins and the wooing of the Spirit of God doesn't last forever as God said HIS Spirit wouldn't "strive with man always"(Gen. 6:3) meaning that death will come for everyone, and our works will speak for themselves. She is best served to know that "pride goeth before destruction" (Prov. 16:18) and further that God has PLANNED the judgement of this world and his PLAN says exactly why...
John 16:7-11
7-Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

8-And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

9-Of sin, because they believe not on me;

10-Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

11-Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

Thank God Charlie was IN God's plan. The question to the critic, the hater and them that rejoice at death and the destruction of the righteous and the defilement of the image of God...are YOU in HIS plan?

Today, I am calling Colleges and Universities to find out how I can get on their list of speakers, lecturers and panelists on religious topics and Christian conservative issues...I wasn't doing that before Charlie's death. That too must have been in GOD'S PLAN!!!

We Mourn The Loss Of Charlie Kirk...HATE STILL NEVER WINS

Unfortunately, not only will September 11th 2001 live in infamy as not only a crime against the United States, but a crime against humanity, but now also September 10th, 2025 will be remembered as a time in which we can clearly see the war for the soul of American ideals and values, with the assassination of Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk.

TurningPointUSA released the following statement in light of this afternoon's tragic murder.

As I watched this horrendous event unfold, I took time to share my thoughts in our church thread on Facebook:

HATE STILL NEVER WINS...

Charlie Kirk had viewpoints that I agreed with and some I disagreed with, but NO viewpoint was worthy of the threat of death, death or a heinous public assassination.

My Journey...

What YOU don't know is that about from 2010 to about 2015, I received threats of physical and bodily harm for my viewpoints and acts within the community as well.
First, from some of the over 50 street and community vigils, as I spoke against the acts of murderers and damage done to community when violence happens. Yes, I was threatened, not on site, but some didn't like what I said to grieving communities and ultimately about the cowards who committed mayhem. Some of them, whose family members were guilty of killing others, sent word that they didn't like me and would like to hurt me. In one neighborhood, during a vigil where a young man had been shot in the head, it was the alleged "gang members" and so called "street people" themselves that let me know, "Pastor, we got your back. Don't worry".
Local Nation Of Islam leader, Minister Roy C, heard the threat upon me as well, and vowed the help of the local NOI for anything I was doing in which I needed help and or protection. That's in part why I love the NOI today, in spite of the alleged Christians on the other side who tell me to dishonor them.
Then, when former District 150 Superintendent Dr. Grenita Lathan was charachetured and threatened, I was too because I supported her and her tenure. They pasted pictures and threats on her lawn, door and porch that included threats to all who supported her. Without doubt, many of them who hated her hated me no matter what was said or how I stood for students and strong and solid education and better administration.
Historically, I have studied Dr. King, Malcom X, Medgar Evers and others, who embraced concepts that would help change a world and I AM NOT happy that those fine men were murdered for their idealism and efforts to free the minds of people from evil.
For those rejoicing at this murder, your heart is evil. Be careful that the gallows you make and rejoice over are not the same gallows that your hatred hangs you in.
Just know that HATE, neither YOUR HATE, nor the hatred of others will ever win. TRUTH MARCHES ON in spite of your efforts to live in fantasy!
Be clear, although you may hate the TRUTH, TRUTH is NOT hate. To tell you TRUTH is the greatest act of love that can ever be performed, because without truth there is no peace with God and no justification into eternity.
As this world turns morality upon its head, and tries to pretend that wrong is right and that God is some type of joke, those of us committed to TRUTH stand even more strong day to day and through every tribulation that what GOD has spoken is TRUE and that we must trust HIM with our lives and our hearts...
If you don't know JESUS, he is only ONE Prayer or act of faith away. HE IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE! (John 14:6)

Charlie has run the race that was set before him. He ran it well and he ran it on FAITH and out of his pledge to Our Lord Jesus Christ. We are praying for his family, and for the children to grow up to be strong in the Lord and in the Power of HIS might, similar to their Father.

Well done Charlie. I'll meet you in that GREAT DAY OVER YONDER!

Blessed!

The Genocide Of Black America Pt. 3: Danielle Carter & The Battle For The Life Of Chicago

It is amazing to see how politicians are responding to the crime and violence epidemic in America and what they are really saying to all of us. From their rhetoric we can conclude that they are saying that Black lives really don't matter. Remember, they nearly burned down half the country when they though they could, claiming "BLACK LIVES MATTER"...but when it comes to stopping crime and violence NONE of us really matter to this liberal, elite, think they know it all, TRASH, crowd of politicians.

Remember, they told us in the pandemic, that their #1 job was to "keep the public safe"...they then proceeded, like Secretary Robert Kennedy said, to implement and perpetrate the most unscientific, destructive and disaster ridden policies upon the public imaginable and were responsible for suicides of children, destruction of marriages, and livelihoods of countless individuals simultaneously facilitating the overall current distrust of the medical community.

What Of Crime & Violence

Like Mrs. Carter, I believe that it is unconscionable that people could be rallying against anyone or any organization or entity that vows or offers to make our streets safer and reduce violence, especially the violence that is killing young Black men and damaging the Black community as it has done.
Black people make up only 13% of the US population but one of the highest percentages of those VICTIMIZED by of acts of violent crime. To see folk rally and deny to ask for or petition for assistance in dealing with crime and violence prevention displays at least 3 things.
1- A complete lack of understanding of what the military vow is. It is to defend the United States from "ALL ENEMIES, FORIEGN OR DOMESTIC" Specific military involvement has nothing to do with the establishment of martial law. To say that rampant murder and violent crime, and those  perpetuate those things are not "enemies" of us all is ridiculous. If the presence of the military can help save someone's life, and making community policing more easy...GOD BLESS THEM!
2- A total disassociation from the real issues, and lack of understanding of what crime and violence has done and is doing to our communities in general, and as such one is not qualified to say a word about the subject...
3- An attitude of one who believes that a certain amount of loss of life is acceptable and even tolerable, as long as it is THEM and not US. In this case, this is directed towards Black people and communities where Black people live predominately. This is the ultimate insult and height of foolishness and similar to those who both took a bath in gasoline and washed their clothes in gasoline, while standing by a burning inferno; these people are on their way to the lowest part of HELL. Proof: Both Pritzker and Brandon Johnson enjoy heavy details of security and police presence, while the community is left to bury their dead at war zone proportions due to idiots wanting to flex with a gun.

Until you have conducted community vigil's and remembrances for those killed of senseless violence, or experienced the pain of the loss of a loved one due to it, you really don't quite understand the sense of urgency, but this is an EMERGENCY which has raged on for years. There are entire communities of young people in Chicago who were alive in 2013, but did not live to 2017. They are dead now due to the culture of violence, many of them didn't live to be 20 years old, but that is another story. Someone has to save the innocent from these murderers and predators, and I say we must do that..."BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY"

Blessed!

"The picture is considerably different for Black Americans, who reported increased violent victimization from 2022 to 2023. Nonlethal violent victimization rates for Black Americans jumped 37% during this period, reaching 12.3 incidents per 1,000 people in 2023, the highest of any racial group. Aggravated assault rates increased by 16%, the survey data show, while robbery rates climbed by 79%. Additionally, while rape/sexual assault rates decreased 25% from 2021 to 2022 for Black Americans, they rose 47% from 2022 to 2023."

The Genocide Of Black America Pt. 2: "Stupid Is, Stupid Does"

I do not know the young lady who produced the video that you are about to see, but I thought it was well worth posting, because it is a total oxymoron for any Black American to look at our communities and in general reject help in making our environments safe.

BELIEVING A FALSE NARRATIVE:

One thing that I hope you are sick and tired of like me, is the false narrative that Black folk are being set up to be imprisoned or to be placed in interment camps. During the last Presidential campaign Kamala and other leading Black liberals continued to safe that "we" meaning Black folk, "Would go back in chains" and "slavery" if Donald Trump was elected. I, for one, find it amazing that anyone with a brain would believe that utter lie to begin with, but exactly how has that played out, along with the narrative of endless wars, a bankrupt economy and backward moves in every part of society?

Now, the stupid lie is that reducing murder, rape, carjacking and other societal evils and crime is somehow harmful to the Black community. The fact is that our communities are deeply troubled and many of us have accepted certain behavior as normal.

Motivation

One of the arguments against the actions of surging police with Federal agents and calling out the National Guard, is that such actions should be resisted because Trump's "motivations" are impure...WHAT??? I can't go down the long list of politicians who only have personal and self motivations in doing anything for the Black community (for example, the Biden administration did virtually nothing for the Black community, Kamala had no agenda for us, and in fact didn't identify with being Black unless it led to votes, and most of us can't think of ONE thing that former President Barak Obama did for the Black community), but politics is filled with self-motivation and self-centered acts and actions. So that is not a good reason to either support or reject support in making our community more safe.
Php 1:15-18 ~ 15-Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: 16-The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: 17-But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. 18-What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.
Paul, while imprisoned, thought the same about preaching...rather than question or base truth on motivation of the speaker, his rejoicing was to focus on the integrity of the truth of Christ itself.  In other words, he wasn't caught up in the "minutia" and certainly didn't believe in "grandstanding". Paul kept the main thing, the plain thing...that preaching Christ, was the only truth that people needed to hear, and the truth of Christ was the only truth that people needed to hear.

I have often said, a starving person is not thirsty or hungry enough when they are more concerned about the color and nature of the hand that is feeding them, rather than what  are being fed. In fact, some may deserve to starve if they can't get past certain attributes of the one feeding them and meeting their needs.

What I know for sure, is that for years, whether we believe it or not, there has been a great concern over the condition of the Black community. While I believe in REPARATIONS BY LINEAGE, no amount of money will solve this problem. We must embrace a complete cultural shift, as Black culture has been hijacked by modern culture and been presented as if Black culture is some sort of negative upon society. I believe that we must FIGHT for true Black culture. Black culture is not gangs, scams, political or social hatred, and is certainly not negative. Black culture is strong and it is resiliant...no matter what was put upon our ancestors, they AROSE to the call, through blood, sweat and tears, hatred and evil...they rose everyday and they did so WITH CHRIST and religious belief and fervor.

In my opinion, this is what we have lost...we have lost as the Rev. Dr. Clay Evans once said, "good religion". We have allowed all things church to be connected to procedure, protocol, and etiquette, as opposed to sincerity, righteousness and heart felt and ego effacing love for the community and those around us. We have become the very system that we have opposed. A system whereby only them "in the click" are rewarded, while other stand on the outside looking in, no matter how deep their needs are. This is shameful and we are paying the cost.

I believe that God has allowed a window of opportunity for us to make a mass call, with our 13% of our population which has accounted for over 80% to 90% of the fashion, style and identity of the United States itself. I believe that many White folk and those of other ethnicities are just as disheartened when Black people are murdered, and subjected to violent crime. Let us arise and take advantage of the offer to help right our communities and educate our children adequately and most of all, let us make a call back to the church...a church based and rooted in the foundation of the truth of Christ. It is that foundation and that experience that we need now, greater than ever before.

No matter who the President is or elected official, let us hold them accountable for the betterment and improvement of our communities. Our lives and even our very existence rests upon it. Please don't allow anyone, who claims to be Black or otherwise, upset that aim and goal. Our families and loved ones are at risk.

Blessed!

JESUS Best Friend...Arrested & Raided By The FBI...

UPDATE: See Vicki Yohe interview at end of article

Prov. 1:24-32
24 - Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; 25-But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: 26-I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; 27- When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. 28-Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: 29-For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: 30-They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. 31-Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. 32-For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

David E (EVERYTHING BUT GOD) Taylor is once again experiencing a calamity, a judgment of epic proportions, one which I do not think he will be able to escape from this time.

For those who don't know...complete with claims to be "Jesus best friend" an "Apostle" and to have God appearing on his stages, and a host of other idiotic ramblings, David E Taylor puts the "CHAR" in CHARLATAN...He is one of the top ENEMIES of God, with an alleged ministry full of inconsistencies, sin, opulence, control, abuse and everything that should not and will not enter the Kingdom of God.

His reputation and lack of integrity precedes him greatly...and believe me, I am not writing this out of some type of "joy" or gladness, but I am so very happy for all of those who have been victimized by this man, and have lived to see God's justice begin to take over in this case...

The current accusations are as follows:

"Taylor and Brannon, according to the indictment, compelled their victims to work at their call centers and to work for Taylor as his “armor bearers.” Armor bearers were Taylors’s personal servants who fulfilled Taylor’s demands around the clock. Taylor and Brannon controlled every aspect of the daily living of their victims. Victims slept in the call center facility or in a “ministry” house, and Taylor and Brannon did not permit them to leave without permission. Taylor demanded that his Armor Bearers transport women from ministry houses, airports, and other locations to Taylor’s location and ensured the women transported to Taylor took Plan B emergency contraceptives.
In addition, according to the indictment, Taylor and Brannon required victims to work in the call centers long hours without pay or perform other services for Taylor. Taylor set unobtainable daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly monetary donation goals for victims working in the call centers and required victims to follow the orders he created without question. If victims disobeyed an order or failed to reach his monetary goals, Taylor and Brannon punished the victims with public humiliation, additional work, food and shelter restrictions, psychological abuse, forced repentance, sleep deprivation, physical assaults, and threats of divine judgment in the form of sickness, accidents, and eternal damnation.
KOGGC/JMMI received millions of dollars in donations each year through its call centers. Taylor and Brannon used much of the money to purchase luxury properties, luxury vehicles, and sporting equipment such as a boat, jet skis, and ATVs. In total, Taylor received approximately $50 million in donations since 2014."

At the end of the day, we can be thankful that the Lord is on the side of the righteousness and though we be slain, the ultimate hand of God's justice will be shown, both now and in eternity. All these "giants" are nothing but men to be defeated and brought down before God. I say, let God be God because he knows how to do things much better than we ever could. Sisera has his day and when that comes...well, let's just say, he won't be back!

Blessed

The Genocide Of Black America: Part 1

One thing that President Donald Trump has done, among many, is stir up thoughts over community crime and violence and how to make our communities more safe, and who should be expending the efforts to do so.

President Trump controversially used his power to temporarily take over the Washington DC Police force by adding a federal security force in the name of the National Guard and other governmentally directed agencies to address serious issues of crime and violence that have been a part of that territory for a number generations.

This has really been an eye-opening experience. For example, while seeking to downplay the necessity of Trump's actions, federally defunded PBS claims that the violent crime or murder rate in the 700,000 citizen Washington DC area had dramatically decreased to its lowest point in over 30 years, and that there were only 99 homicides year to date which is 13 less deaths than last year, year over.  Although she seems to like the additional assistance, Mayor Bowser's administration claims progress because in 2023 there were 274 homicides and only 187 in 2024. Unless something changes, they won't come close to those near record high numbers this years, which is a good thing.

Now, please understand this...like Washington DC and most major cities, whether under liberal or conservative governance, the Black community is affected the most by far as a result of violent crime.

Then There's Illinois Largest City, Chicago...

In Illinois, lunatics (and I do mean that) and political hacks like Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson  have concluded that Illinois does not need the Government's help in addressing violent crime and that President Trump should not send a federal detail to Chicago without the expectation of a full blown legal fight and resistance by whatever means necessary. This threat is levied to keep him and Federal law enforcement out. The warnings of governmental authorities are against an ever increasing outcry from citizens of Chicago who, along with other citizens across the State, are sick and tired of the culture of death, murder, and what we are experiencing in general at the hands of these political charlatans.

Look Closer:

In Chicago alone, over the last 10 years, there has been an average of 8 citizens murdered and 37 wounded every weekend. This translates to over 4,000 murders and over 19,000 injuries from weekend activities only. This has to make Chicago the most dangerous place to be in the United States on the weekends. HERE

According to IllinoisPolicy.org, in 2024 there were 28,443 violent crimes. Chicago has a total of over 11,154 homicides over the last 20 years (remember over 4,000 of them on the weekends) and 580 homicides in 2024, down from 626 in 2023.

Depending upon who is counting, and there is trouble with accurate reporting, there are 192 people  murdered in Chicago as of July 31st, 2025. (however, 280 appears to be a more accurate count) Chicago officials however "boast" that the number of homicides appear to be down 33% from the prior year and have now reverted to "pre-pandemic levels".

78.3% of citizens murdered in Chicago through July 31st 2025 were BLACK.

While Mayor Johnson claims that he is doing well in the area of violent crime (fact is that his numbers during the first 2 years are lower than the numbers of his predecessors over the same duration of time) as he rests his efforts on that comparison, the problem yet remains, that because of politics, that there is a level of tolerance from officials such as himself, as it pertains to stopping to violent crime.

Now, that by itself is bad enough and at a minimum indicates some sort of desensitization to the issue of violent crime, and its devastating effects, but this approach also totally overlooks the fact that at a rate above 50% in nearly every venue, BLACK youth, between the ages of 18 to 35, and individuals are the ones being murdered by the droves. Further, like most demographics, Blacks tend to kill other Blacks at disproportionately higher rates, which indicates a double problem as the lives of perpetrators are either spent in prison or on the run, and their families become a sort of second victim as well.

Remember, in Washington DC, supported by the Natl. Guard, police and law enforcement, officials were not only able to get criminals off the streets, and bring crimes such as theft and aggravated assaults down to almost nothing, but for 2 weeks, there were NO MURDERS or homicides. There is NO WAY that anyone can say that lowering violent crime 30%, 40%, 50% or even 80% is better than ELIMINATING it all together...ANYONE who says otherwise is either on drugs, or has an abnormal, and even induced issue with cognition.

I Call This The Genocide Of The Black Community

According to most definitions of genocide, which is considered a crime against humanity, in addition to the physical element of death and threat of severe bodily harm, it also carries a mental element perpetrated upon the targeted population. This mental element includes the establishment of an "intent" to destroy by taking certain actions and facilitating an environment that fosters certain outcomes and conditions that lead to the demise of entire groups of people. In other words, genocide is also about mentally conditioning the target population so that, as the Borg says, their "resistance is futile".  This creates an attitude of desperation totally disintegrating the target population's hope and will to survive. I contend that all of these elements, hopelessness, despair, the inability to prepare for success or expect better, are present within many so called Black communities and among populations that have experienced the trauma of violent crime such as we have witnessed for a number of years.

Conclusion Part 1:

In part 2 I will further outline the epidemic of the thousands of youth killed in this genocidal war upon the Black community within our country. Be certain I am not proposing that there is some sort of ethnic cleansing occuring, only that there is a culture of death that has targeted and continues to target the Black community, and that death culture has been accepted, accommodated and even politicized, rather than fought against. I am certainly not victim "shaming" as I believe the perpetrators of this violence, no matter what ethnicity, must be held accountable for their actions, but in many cases have been caudled and certainly not corrected.

Although there is no declared war against a foreign enemy, we do have what appears to be a domestic enemy destroying a people right before our very eyes. This war is evident and seems to have the support and encouragement of many even within the most affected groups.

As stated, and as many have now begun to notice, looking at our streets and the results, one would think that this is an active war zone. If anyone said that in your community that there were over 200 deaths and over 1,000 people wounded as a result of crime and violence, you would expect there to be a full blown war with military intervention, yet we have been seduced into seeing America's Black youth and others destroyed and tend to view it as normal or at the very least tolerable. I believe it is neither and we must do much better.

Blessed!

STUDY TIME: The Black Church & The Oneness/Trinitarian Divide...

Over the years we have not avoided the issue of Oneness Pentecostalism and the confusion and misinterpretation of scripture as it pertains to the issue of salvation.

From the "Revelatory Expressions" of Noel Jones, who thought to attempt to "pretend" that he had somehow changed his teaching to that of Trinitarian belief, to the false message that anyone can diminish the meaning of the Cross, and actually gain salvation in a baptismal pool with the proper words said over them, HERE. In addition, we have seen the most dogmatic and error filled person, at least on this subject, Gino Jennings, basically claim that anyone who is not both baptized in his formula, nor believes that the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost are all Jesus, are on their way to hell.

RANK STUPIDITY

Believe me, I have seen it all and spoken on the rise of anti-biblical doctrines and characters as they continue to spout heresy. Thank GOD for continuing to raise up a generation of young people who are as adamant and more in standing against the invasion of false doctrine that continues to attempt to choke this generation and remove it far away from truth, through and by manipulation and false teaching.

Take the time to listen to and study this video. It reaches back over 120 years into the past and outlines the foundation of much of the confusion that exists today as it pertains to Biblical teaching and doctrine on the nature of God and the modern acceptance of Sabellianism, modalism and what we know as the teaching of Oneness (often misnomered and associated with Apostolic doctrine)

As I have posted in the comments of the video, can a person who embraces Jesus as God, even without an understanding of how he is God, be saved?

I don't know, but you may wish to chew on that in the comments. Please feel free.

Blessed!

Run Outta Baltimore Bryant Strikes Again

The only thing worse than a liar, are the people who prop them up and give them credibility...and so it is for Jamal "YEP, THAT'S MY BABY" Bryant and his so called, alleged "political activism" leading to his alleged flat out lies...

First, I want you to know, there is no greater man of integrity than COGIC Presiding Bishop, and I do emphasize, current and duly elected, appointed and I would even say, "called", Presiding Bishop J Drew Sheard.

For years, since I have known him as the Pastor of his church, then Superintendent, then Bishop and now Presiding Bishop, I was moved and impressed by his modesty, character, sincerity and dedication to Pastoral ministry. If there were ever an example of a Pastor and one that is a sound leader, he is certainly one.

Although I know he is not God, and neither are any of us, and has made mistakes like we all have, however believe me, $75,000 couldn't move a mole from a molehill in Detroit, Memphis or anywhere else in America, yet alone could it entice Bishop Sheard to do anything that he wasn't already in motion or set to do.

VIDEO...Accusations Refuted

As you can see and hear, in this video, Jamal Bryant, the "REJECT of Baltimore" and new wanna be "king of Atlanta", after announcing a "Target Fast and Boycott" in Feb. 2025, says that Target bought Black churches and their leaders by dividing $300,000 among them as hush money to not participate in the alleged boycott against Target's reversal of DEI (Diversity Equity & Inclusion) initiatives...The only problem is that what Bryant was saying was misleading and therefore a LIE...

Target, which is another story all together as I will explain,  gives annually through 3 primary programs, to the Black Community and churches. According to their Grants and Corporate giving website:

Our philanthropic functions include: Corporate Citizenship, Target Foundation and Community Vitality Grant Programs.

According to Target these 3 types of programs are in effect annually and fund community ventures of charitable and community based organizations, non profits and churches situated in and serving the Black community.

After an April 2025 meeting with Target CEO Brian Cornell, Al Sharpton, the Director of NAN, (the National Action Network,) and Bryant himself, Bryant concluded that there wasn't enough commitment on the part of Target to correct their reversal of DEI and like most "race baiters" (those that make their living off of inciting negative and even destructive actions based on race and sentiments of racism) Bryant left the meeting suggesting that certain churches were paid off to avoid endorsing his 40 Day Target boycott, and as you heard him speaking for himself, inferring that among others, Presiding Bishop J Drew Sheard had been paid $75,000 as "hush money" to simply walk away from endorsing any action against Target.

What REJECTS!!!!

Bryant, was not only allegedly run out of Baltimore by PFK Boom (Davon Neverdon) and his group of community activists known as "300 Gangstas", for his ineffective leadership, lascivious behavior, idolatry and unsanctimonious living,

We didn't hear a word from this REJECT and so called "community leader" when Target was allowing men in women's restrooms, and selling clothes designed to promote and pull children into gay and transsexual lifestyles and defending it all as some sort of rite of passage...what you heard were CRICKETS from Bryant, who, according to him, has a family which shops at Target regularly.

DEI & Reverse Racism

What is Bryant fighting for? In short POPULARITY...but let's move on to a more substantive issue...

DEI has been twisted and redefined to mean something that it wasn't intended to mean. As it is currently applied, it is a REVERSE RACISM initiative and as such is unfit for corporate consumption and I wholly agree with Presidential and legislative policy to do away with some of the more egregious and racial aspects of the program as is currently presented. I understand this fully, because I have not only studied it, but I am Certified in Diversity trainer in agreement with the fundamental basis of Diversity, however, DEI contorts the meaning of diversity, redefines "equity" and overlaps "inclusion" to include a host of unbefitting perversions reducing the initiative to a Socialistic Race based program, powered by Critical Race Theory, designed to use racism to allegedly combat racism. The promoters of DEI and its implementation is heavily rooted in the application of racism, redefining fairness and equity to mean equal "outcomes" as opposed to equal opportunities.  I'll leave that to debates in the comments if you so chose...

CONCLUSION

To the heart of the issues...

Bishop J Drew Sheard is more than capable of defending himself and affirming his leadership within the Church Of God In Christ as he did in the video. In my opinion, Jamal Bryant is a REJECT and delivers a host of untruths, unpalatable suggestions and inferences and offers an non Christ centered and even unbiblical moral ethic on modern social and political issues...

Sorry, I have been busy, but I really didn't think anyone would listen to or take Bryant in any serious manner, especially after he exposed himself historically, remains unrepentant and continues to pile on more and more ungodliness continuing to expose himself for the pulpit charlatan that he is. I can say that he certainly pastors a church with a right name..."New Birth" because both he and the previous pastor need and needed a NEW BIRTH!

Some will invariably claim that I am too harsh, but what is too harsh is to continue in sin and unrighteousness, lies and deceit while claiming to be a representative of Christ and the community. This is the embodiment of Bryant, his doctrine and what many of us see as we see and listen to him.

After this, I believe I will do what I haven't done in a long time...GO to Target and buy something...going to check that bathroom policy first however, AND we may just apply for Target community based funding for a community initiative...THANKS JAMAL...your rhetoric wasn't in vain!

Thank Bishop Sheard for addressing the issues, but he didn't have to address anything. Those of us who LIVE Truth, already know the truth and continue to praise God for it.

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. ~ John 8:32

United States Supreme Court Bombshells

Prior to its Annual break The United States Supreme Court delivered several bombshell rulings on several issues that have been swirling for years, but that have come to a head under the 2nd Trump Presidency. Allow me to place some perspective on a few of them.

Nationwide Injunctions:

In a 6 to 3 ruling the Supreme Court has partially closed the door on sitting Federal Court judges being able to summarily provide nationwide injunctions against Presidential orders...

"Federal courts do not exercise general oversight of the Executive Branch; they resolve cases and controversies consistent with the authority Congress has given them. When a court concludes that the Executive Branch has acted unlawfully, the answer is not for the court to exceed its power, too."
The opinion itself was chalk full of hypocrisy. For instance, in 2022, Justice Elena Kagan was against such injunctions claiming the harm and foul that a single judge could do against a lawful Presidential order, claiming that such was wrong...
“It just can't be right that one district judge can stop a nationwide policy in its tracks,” ~ Justice Elena Kagan 2022 Northwestern University’s School of Law

However, after signing on to the Court's dissent against an opinion favorable to President Trump, Kagan waffled and agreed that Nationwide Injunctions could be valid.

With narrow exception in the majority opinion of the Court, it seems that the days of placing nationwide injunctions on Executive Orders will be a thing of the past with limited exception. This is an important issue as only 5 out of 94 US Districts produced some 40 nationwide injunctions against Trump policy seeking to undermine the power of the Executive branch based on political and not legal ideology. In other words, 5 jurisdictions claimed and decided that they should run the country...not the elected officials and those voted in office by WE THE PEOPLE.

Birthright Citizenship:

Although a full opinion and decision on this topic won't be rendered until Oct. 2025, and was wrapped up in the nationwide injunction case, I would say don't worry Black folk...and don't listen to the alarmists...Black citizenship can never and never will be revoked!

As most of everyone already knows, the 14th, 15th and 16th Amendments of the Constitution of the United States were written EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE DESCENDANTS OF OUR ANCESTORS (Descendants of chattel slavery) whose parents were brought here as slaves. This has always and will continue to guarantee CITIZENSHIP to Black folk who are descendants of slaves born within in the United States.
What the interpretation of what has traditionally been called, "Birthright Citizenship" has done is allow all other nationalities and certain other persons, who have never had any relationship as a citizen to the United States of America, to PIGGY-BACK off of rights granted to Black Citizens to claim citizenship and rights under the United States Constitution.

There are schemes and strategies implored by all manner of people using these amendments to claim "citizenship" or a right to be treated a certain way...and...that IS NOT right! What is offensive is that people, primarily illegal immigrants to the United States, have used laws meant to bolster the security and standing of Black people and their place within American Society to bolster their own place and citizenship within the United States...what's worse, many of the same people, using and implementing laws, once again, meant to affirm American's Black Citizens, would never associate themselves with Black folk in any other way or manner. In fact in many cases, they would go so far as to claim that they were not and would not be associated with Black people, and in cases where there is uncertainty, would rather be considered White.

Parental Rights In Education & Gay Rights Education:

In another notable decision, the Supreme Court sided with a parent of a Maryland family who wanted to exempt their child from LBGTQ education under parental rights and rules which they were denied at lower courts.

This was interesting to me, as I remember back in 2004, in MA. Dr. David Parker was
denied his right to opt his preschool child out of the reading of a book by Robert Skutch called "Who's In A Family" that endorsed gay relationships. The court held at that time that it was in the child's best interest to be exposed to education on a gay lifestyle, because, according to them, the State had more of an interest to educate the child on the law and legal situations such as being gay, than the parent did to withhold the child from what vicariously endorsed by the State. (my summary). It was a sad day and situation done under Republican Governor, and failed Presidential candidate, Mitt Romney. Thank God for a turnaround.

Now, all this was right before the gay pride parades which have been basically male strip shows and ways for perverts to gather, mach and overall make themselves look like the freaks and perverts that some of them are. In fact, if heterosexuals were to do much of the same trash they do, we would be arrested and placed under the jail...4-Real...

CONCLUSION

In short, it is shameful that courts had to go through such and that judges, no matter who and where they are, feel and felt that they have so much power that the Constitution and Constitutional law didn't and doesn't matter, and that We The People are merely "subjects" or pawns in their game of power.

To those drunk with their own power we say, THIS (your actions and views) are exactly why Trump exists and why he has gained so much success and power over you. You claim to stand for what is right and liberty, but you stand for the subversion of the masses to a vision fit for you. You do not protect nor do you hold dear your pledge of fidelity to the Constitution or to the People of the United States.

Donald Trump, like him or not, has positioned himself as one who values and treasures the People of the United States. This is the basis of his success. Some will leave this blog because I point that out. Others will stop their support...and that is OK! There is no need to support this blog in any way, if one can't stand for TRUTH. The truth is that the elite, the proud, are an offence to God and will not stand in the day of judgement, and that judgment is not only before the throne of God, but it begins by exposing the elite and self-exalted for who they are...lovers of themselves and not lovers of God, nor mankind.

Unfortunately, the church is situated in a similar position. Self-exalted with a focus on self and not on God. Lord help us and raise us up from our slumber for we are not fit for your use.

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;" ~ 2 Tim. 4:3

Glorilla & Gospel Music. What Is The Real Issue?

Since the rapper known as "Glorilla" (Gloria Hallelujah  Woods) was delivered the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award for her collab with Kirk Franklin, Maverick City and multiple other  gospel artists at the 2025 BET Awards, there appears to be an outcry from certain gospel artists who have taken the time to cry "foul" to one degree or another.

While some alleged gospel artists, have no problem with a rapper, who's previous claim to fame was a 2022 viral Tik-Tok rap entitled "F.N.F Let's GO", (whose lyrics are far too vulgar to state here) there are others who claim that there is nothing wrong with Glorilla having the opportunity to "shine" in the gospel music industry and that her appearance is a welcome addition to the gospel music industry.

Because of the apparent success of non-gospel artists in the gospel music space, others, like Deitrick Haddon, above, feel that Gospel Music, as a genre, is dying in its appeal to the masses because of the failure of those within the industry to respect the industry and recognize the work of many within the industry.

I wonder where was all this "energy" when rapper Snoop Dogg, who has presented his secular rap music with equally or more vulgar language and messages, and also won the same award in 2021 for his song "Blessing Me Again" also in collaboration with respected, top selling gospel artists, such as the late Rance Allen.

Since Deitrick was silent then (in 2021), is his interest now because of just being fed up with the issue, or is it because Glorilla is a woman, and he didn't want to fall out of favor with his "boyzz"?

Then, there is "close the doors" Marvin Sapp, recognized as one of the highest charting gospel artists in American history, who in a rather lengthy facebook post, took the time to assert his opinion that the real problem was not that gospel music was dying, but that gospel music has lost its diversity, flavor, and appeal in part because of Christian community's bias and confusion over artists lifestyles, sins, failures and perceptions of "anointing".

The following is my partial response to Marvin Sapp's posting:

"When we took gospel music, industrialized it, and gave it to secular individuals to promote it, what do you think would happen to it???
Why would the world safeguard and care for something that has been given to us and that we have been entrusted with?"
The truth of the matter is that gospel music, as soon as it was made into an "industry" and rooted in secular appeal, it died. Yet, there were and are presentations, concerts, tours and everything else, but it is as far away from the cross of Christ as left is from right.

Secondly, far from the opining of Dr. Sapp, I believe that personal character and integrity have everything to do with the success and move forward of gospel music as a whole. To be sure, I am not talking about character flaws and idiosyncrasies. I am talking about sins and the deliberate ability to attempt to straddle the fence singing gospel while living secularly and in sin.

The real issue is salvation and the church's inability to distinguish gifts, talents and abilities from anointing and the yoke breaking power of God. The church is enamored with associations and the ability to run with, be next to, and be in concord with "the world".
James 4:4 ~ Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Now, the truth is that "the world" and "the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus" (Rom. 8:2) are incompatible. Not the mere material existence, which God has given us to enjoy. "The world" is the mode, operation and motive behind life and living.  Association with "the world" leads to compromise and exchange of ideals and values...That push and desire to compromise is the sin nature which is tied to "the world". As believers, we cannot run with it, in part because if we are converted or changed within our hearts. The nature of sin has been broken. We no longer want  sin to be the dominant part of our nature. As believers our nature, hearts, minds, and will should be changed, and reflective of the work Christ has begun within us. As believers we begin to "mortify" the deeds and sins of the flesh.(Col.3:5)

As the late Bishop CH Mason once said, "one can't be a little saved" just as one can't be "a little pregnant". Just as a woman is either "pregnant or not", a person is either "saved or not"! Of course, practically we grow in grace, (2 Pet. 3:18) but our love of sin and desire for evil associations, should be broken.

Damage To The Kingdom

Then, what of the Kingdom of Christ? Like Gideon's idolatrous father, Joash, many contend that if God didn't want his Kingdom damaged then he would deliver those who represent his name. They would further assert that it is not our job to worry more about the Kingdom than God does himself and that a laissez-faire attitude toward all those who claim to be his servants of representatives is the best action to take.

If it were not for the fact that we are to "earnestly contend for the faith, once delivered unto the Saints" Jude 1:3 I would probably relegate myself to saying nothing or even attempting to shore up the faith of the readers of this blog, because what we are witnessing both in the so called gospel music industry, to the pulpit is a tragic shame. I cannot spend the time speaking on and or against the multiple, repugnant practices, doctrines and manipulative moves I am witnessing and have seen, but have not yet written about...I don't thing that there is enough band-width to reveal and rebuke the contemptuous acts that we are all witnessing.

For sure, because JESUS prayed and paid for it with HIS blood, the church will survive. However, the exit wound will be painful. Many that started with us, won't make it until and to the end. Many are fainting as we speak.

So, is Gospel music dead?

CERTAINLY NOT! The God of gospel music yet lives and HE is an should be the reason for the song and HE is certainly the reason I sing. However, that is a far cry from saying that God is pleased with what we see and are witnessing as the gospel music industry.

I grow tired and absolutely sick of them, who give their gifts directly to the devil, in the name of "business deals" and in order to "promote the message"...It is  TRICK...it will not work. Only God can touch hearts and minds. Yes, I know that there is money to be made, but as the saying goes, "not all money is good money".

Jesus gave us the example...when satan tempted him, which was only done to prove to us that HE was without sin and could not sin, Jesus decried the challenge that satan could give him riches, wealth and influence in the world. In the end, without satan, Jesus stands and says, "behold all power is given unto me" (Mt. 28:18)...Not through or by compromise or anything that satan had to offer...It was GOD who already owned it all that Jesus reveals had and has the ability, control and authority over all things.

Haddon is too far gone. He can see the issue and not perceive the real problem. Same with Dr. Sapp as far as I can see it. Then there are countless others who only see what the secular world and satan has taught and told them to see in order to judge the issue. Ooh yes, I could name them and nearly present an endless catalogue of misstatements, erroneous statements, errors, and flat out anti-Biblical diatribes flowing from many of our so called "Psalmists" on the issue...but why and to what avail???

What we are sure of is that it is time to REPENT and go back to the foundation and fountain of faith to find it again. When that happens, I am sure we will see a deliverance among the minstrels, (not ministers) that claim to lead us to the throne-room of God. They too, will lose their desire for sexual abuse, alcohol, drugs and other damnable and illicit practices...and most of all, feel the conviction about compromising the gif of God at the alter of satan. When we repent and when we pray there will be a change and folk will be blessed and saved as a result.

To the church...
Revelation 2:2-5 ~ 2-I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: 3-And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. 4-Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5-Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Repentance, Restoration & Dr. Earl Carter

In the most recent turn of events within the Church Of God In Christ, Dr. Earl Carter, who was formerly anathematized by previous COGIC leadership, openly displayed his willingness to repent of past statements which fanned the flame of discord within the church.

Dr. Earl Carter
Taking the opportunity to reset his relationship with the church at the side of Presiding Bishop J Drew Sheard, Dr. Carter openly stated his regret for having said things out of anger in times past and has asked the church to enter into renewed relationship and understanding with him.

In short, this renewal and reset is A GOOD THING! But what of his ECHO CHAMBER???

Remember, many of the most bombastic statements, including those stating that our former Presiding Bishop Blake was a homosexual and potentially engaged in homosexual relationships, and further, that many, if not most, of our leaders where also engaged in nefarious, ungodly and even sexually and spiritually deviant activities were ECHOED by many claiming themselves to be members and associates of the Church Of God In Christ.

COGIC Presiding Bishop
J Drew Sheard

Early on, as I state in the above referenced POST, Dr. Carter was seeking to use and distort every bit of information for his purposes of destruction and defamation. At the time, as I point out, he attempted to distort information that he had gained from this blog and use it against COGIC leadership. In that error of ungodliness he was promoted by many individuals, some of whom I can name along with receipts of their statements. In other words he had an audience who felt similar to himself and wanted that confusion to continue.

Repentance is good...but what about RESTORATION?

Restoration is a principle of repentance and even an obligation towards them who have committed evil. In a Facebook post by Pastor Carey Gidron Sr. Pastor Gidron Sr encouraged Dr. Carter to not only make a repentance in general, but to also go directly to the one, Bishop Charles E Blake (and others), and make his appeal of repentance to them as they were the object of his offense. Pastor Gidron Sr. wrote the following:

"Bishop Sheard, as our Presiding Bishop, is right to lead with grace. I stand with him in that. He has handled this matter not with personal bias, but in the wisdom of his office. However, we must be clear: this is a matter that deeply wounded Bishop Blake, his family, West Angeles , and the very moral fabric of our denomination.

Therefore, I appeal to the saints and to the leadership of this Church: if Dr. Carter is truly repentant, then the path to restoration must mirror the public weight of the offense. He should humbly and directly seek open forgiveness—not only from Bishop Blake, but from the Blake family, the General Board, and the saints at large. He was direct in his public accusations; his apology must be equally public and sincere.

We cannot look at the Blake family and say, “Just get over it.” We cannot say to West Angeles, “Move on.” No, No, No!!!—true restoration must go through the ones who were wounded, not around them. We do not get to dictate the timeline of another person’s healing. If someone publicly tears down a father, the sons have every right to be part of the redemptive process." (Facebook: 'Appeal To The Global Body Of Christ'

Will the faithful HATERS repent too???

Although that remains to be seen, one thing is certain, as we enter into this time where we celebrate the RESURRECTION of Jesus and the certainty of the  of the faith upon which we stand, which is encapsulated in love and forgiveness, there is no better time for repentance, forgiveness and restoration of all things pertaining to Christ.

I bid Dr. Carter well and prayerfully the Grand Old Church will continue to heal, not just over this, but over other things that have hampered the ministry over the years.

Blessed!

Marvin Sapp...Open The Doors

1 Cor. 14:40 ~ Let all things be done decently and in order.

Well family, I must say that I am not surprised...

But first...This is not the place to drag Bishop Marvin Sapp or criticize oneness doctrine. Truth is, since his time with Commissioned, I have enjoyed this man's singing and much of his ministry. I have prayed for him as well as other group members and even had good conversation with him. He is certainly, in my opinion, a Servant of Christ, and not an enemy of the cross.

What I am not surprised at is that the "old church" and "old church ways" have once again, finally seen the light of day and been placed front and center for this generation and new, more woke critics to see.

What do I mean?

In the Black Pentecostal church, which is a descendent of the Black Baptist and Methodist church both historically and otherwise, certain practices and beliefs have nearly always existed. Once such belief, is that the "offering" or the collection of money, is a sacred part of the service. While that is not bad, in and of itself, because all things rendered to God are sacred within their proper context, the methods used to collect these "offerings" have gone from ZIG to ZAG and are all over the board. The problem is that many of the techniques used to solicit monetary gifts are unbiblical, manipulative and unwarranted.

Context Of Controversy?

Well, in 2024 at the PAW (Pentecostal Assemblies Of The World) convention, after ministering, Bishop Sapp was recorded seeking to raise $40,000 to help the church meet the program budget. Now, that may not be bad IF that was all that happened. What had happened wuz....Dr. Sapp vehemently instructed the staff to "close the doors" leading to the impression that everyone in the building was to be held until the offering and a certain amount of money had been raised.

Now, we must confront the fact that doors been closed before during offering in the Black church in particular. So that was not an issue. The issue was that he, like many his predecessor, instructed that the doors be closed to prohibit entry into the sanctuary, and more importantly and controversially, as stated, to restrict or limit exit from the sanctuary during the offering.

The Fallout

Well...loot your 7-11...(Please DON'T take that literally)

When the video was seen, the DOORS came off, and didn't open in Bishop Sapp's favor once the replay and rebroadcast started circulating on social media. Nobody cared or even asked what he preached, and even fewer people cared what he sang or how he sang it...All folk cared about was this Bishop, appearing to hold the congregation hostage for $40,000...

The Response:

Internet chatter and memes regarding his actions and holding the church hostage as of this
writing is running rampant all over the internet, and Bishop Sapp, connected to the internet and very active on Social media, has sought to set the record straight and use the opportunity to distance himself from perceived wrong doing and explain the reason he did and said what he did.

This was one of his responses among many others:

"Some have taken issue with a particular moment when I instructed the ushers, rather firmly, to close the doors during the offering. To those unfamiliar with the church context or who may not regularly attend worship gatherings this has been misinterpreted as holding people hostage as well as offensive. That was never my intent.

The truth is, when finances are being received in any worship gathering, it is one of the most vulnerable and exposed times for both the finance and security teams. Movement during this sacred exchange can be distracting and, at times, even risky. My directive was not about control it was about creating a safe, focused, and reverent environment for those choosing to give, and for those handling the resources."

Hold the door handle...While Dr. Sapp's "intent" may have been harmless, his practice was anything but harmless. As he stated, it was offensive to many, and I might add, shameful to others and not representative of Christ. But we can't leave this topic without stepping back and taking a look at the bigger picture and asking the following question:

Could Dr. Sapp Possibly Be A Victim?

I pose to you that Dr. Sapp, like many who have associated with and been a part of the modern Black church, may be a victim of "old church" practice.

Now wait a minute...many of you say, it was just flat out manipulation...and while that is a possibility, remember, people have feet and legs and can walk at any time, so at the very least this is some sort of "cooperative" relationship between the "fleecee" and "fleecer."

Notice, for those who have seen the video, none of his cohorts were at issue with what he did and or what he said. Nobody! Noone stood up and said, "leave the doors alone".

Why? Because many of the ministers in the Black church, regardless of denomination, believe that what he did and said was acceptable...Some quickly responded to defend him and even encourage him to continue. None of his most ardent supporters view this as a sort of kidnap or ransom. They have no clue that imposing restrictions on free beings and telling them not to move or that they can't leave when there is no personal danger, is, in essence, a  "kidnap" and at the very least an imposition on personal freedom.

In other words, some don't see a thing wrong with creating an environment where people are told to stay put, participate and participate (give) more if asked, because the rationale is that "you owe God"...I pose that attitude and application is a direct hold over from the "old church", which formerly provided guidance and support to all aspects of their member's lives, but in modern day has advanced into plain old manipulation...Yes, I said, and agree with a form of COOPERATION from those victimized ie: the congregation.

Them on the take, have nerve enough to make the demand, and them giving, have docility enough to sit there and follow instructions regardless of the pain.

The Black Pentecostal church in particularly has tied offering to worship and within the context of the church, for many years, some ministers have associated the ability to be blessed by the Lord with the ability to give monetarily. While linking the amount of what one can give to being blessed by God can be a ridiculous notion, it is all too common that people are told that if they give more, they will be blessed more, and the old Oral Roberts saying, "The greater the need, the greater the seed".

The Lock Down

In reality, locking the church up during giving, is not so much about safety, security or even pleasing God, as much as it is about making sure that people with the money don't leave without giving what is asked for and that they hear what is needed so that they can contribute so that the service can move on.

In the video, Dr. Sapp asked for 1,000 people on social media to contribute $20 and for 1,000 people in the live audience of 4,000 to give $20, headed out by those in ministry giving no less than $100...Yes, that would have met the $40,000 request and then some...but, as stated, the "CLOSE THE DOORS" was the issue and in every response to the issue and criticism, Dr. Sapp is totally oblivious to the problem.

More On The Black Church & Offering

The Black church leadership has a long history of making sure the monetary offering is adequate. There are many in ministry who believe they are "anointed by God" to raise offerings. Some specialize in "offerings" as if "monetary offerings" was its own category in biblical studies...well, maybe it is...but y'u-know what I mean.

I propose that this is a bad hold-over of the "old church". Dr. Sapp learned this from some of his predecessors, or at the very least witnessed many of them doing this, as I also have, over the years.

The Tactics Of An Offering

Don't get me started about the tactics of raising an offering in the Grand Ole Church...We know, superlatively, how to raise and lift an offering...from the give to get, to the give to rebuke, we have witnessed it all. In many instances what is asked for isn't an ask, it is a demand and even an expectation.

At this time of year within COGIC circles, funds have been gathered from every Minster, Elder, Pastor, Supt., Bishop, Missionary and on down the line in the form of a "National Report" which will be delivered to the national church by each Jurisdictional Bishop in what is called the April Call Meeting. This report is not an "offering" but something that leaders consider to be a "due" associated with certain credentials in the church. When properly recorded this "report" opens the door to the only rule making assembly within the church, the General Assembly which convenes in November during the Holy Convocation.

Interestingly, even after giving this "report", if one attends the meeting, they will be expected to deliver more money in each service, and in many services the starting amount is $100, and if one has any title it may be $300 to $500 or more...In these cases, doors don't need to be locked,,,folk just need to give...the question is, is that giving, or is it coercion? The problem is that although many don't like the practice, they will defend it.

The Word & Emotional Giving

One of the techniques that has developed over the years, is collecting the offering after the message, or associating monetary giving with spiritual blessing and wellbeing. While many televangelists have done this quite successfully for many years, traditionally, until the mega-conference gatherings of the late 90's and early 2000'nds, in most churches the collection was done prior to the message. However, it seems that after mega-church conferences began, led by many Charismatic, and Word Of Faith ministers, the offering was sometimes thrown on the altar, or at the preacher as he was ministering, supposedly in effort to evoke God's presence and divine will and destiny upon the life of the giver.

In the old Baptist church, people used to throw wallets and purses and money at the preacher while he preached and after they, the audience, started feeling good and in the spirit because of the message. Some people even threatened the preacher to keep on preaching or meet physical harm...

In modern times, it seems like everyone is in on associating a spiritual move and preaching to money and monetary gifts. We remember Dr. Leroy "Money Cometh" Thompson and Creflo "clockin' doodle-dumb" Dollar(s), walking and running over the money laid on the steps to the pulpit promising that the givers would be anointed and their bills and debts canceled. If you don't remember here is the video:

Although Thompson and Dollar are probably not the nexus of  this practice and other practices associated with the collection, they haven't helped correct the issue because it favors them to associate monetary giving with being blessed so that they can rake in more money and have more people give.

Emotional giving is not necessarily "good" giving, and it is not necessarily bad giving either. People should be aware of what they are doing and not so emotionally charged in the process. Folk have given rent money, car payments, mortgages, diaper cash and more while emotionally charged at the time of giving. Some have had to come back after the service and beg for their money back.

While I only raise offerings in my church, personally, I DO NOT raise offerings in association with the preached word or in "appreciation" to God because of the preached word, as is common in many circles. Most certainly I DO NOT lock folk in the sanctuary until the offering is collected. The highest , most sacred part of the service is the WORD itself...interestingly, very seldom does anyone lock people up or shut them in to hear the message. So why the offering? Because that's where we get what we need to operate, pay bills or to pay the preacher for the ministry. I say simply detach it all from emotion.

Personally, I refuse to take an appointment in which I have to raise my own offering to receive an honorarium. I also refuse to raise an "after offering" or raise money after ministry has been delivered so that emotion can be separated from any monetary gift. Neither of these positions make me "special" by they do not make me favored among my colleagues for sure.

I simply feel that budgetary concerns should be addressed before a minister arrives or before their involvement. I know that is ANATHEMA in the Grand Ole Church and among some of the more austere ministries, but we should be good stewards of God's resources and respectful to the people of God and in my opinion, getting folk emotionally charged and asking for money, or seeking funds associated with spiritual or even physical blessing, is not the best stewardship and more importantly, not Biblical.

Big Money

At the height of her ministry, Juanita Bynum, by her own account, would draw $250,000 and up in general offerings simply because her name was on the program. Her presence would more than make any budget and ministries all over the country were more than glad to USE her....excuse me...have her, on their programs.

While this is not wholesale, in many churches and church settings, ministerial leaders are expected to preach, raise the offering, ask for more money, and give money...not $20's but many times, as Dr. Sapp indicated, multiple $100's at a time. In conventions and other gatherings that have multiple services, individuals who attend are expected to "give" in each service. Just attending some meetings with multiple services could result in the "donation" of hundreds and even thousands of dollars.

Locking folk in, calling their name and other tactics are apropos at times and imposed upon the people as the people are required to "follow" and do as they are told "in the name of the Lord"...In times past, although there was manipulation, there were also them that cared for the people and lived common lives with the people, not above the people. Leaders didn't live in luxury while attendees struggled. The struggle was common in many situations and the judgement of the Pastor and leader was well respected and the though was that, if the leaders are asking, then God must be speaking. Unfortunately, that trust and relationship has severely eroded over the years, due to usury and lavish lifestyles of some in leadership, especially them most vocal.

Like many, Dr. Sapp is a victim of this "system" and what appears to be a normal and ordinary method of operation. It is bad behavior that has been "normalized" by expectation of many alleged church leaders who don't view the relationship between themselves and membership as sacred and who view that people and their money are simply a means to an end.

Final Thought

In this case, Dr. Sapp is not excused or innocent simply because he had a bad example, became a bad example or did not consider the seriousness of his acts and actions. Like many explaining it all away, Dr. Sapp had little consideration for what he was actually doing while collecting this monetary offering.

While much can be said about the mode and method of New Testament giving and monetary service, which I have done HERE the fact remains that the church should examine her practices to make sure they honor fellow man and are Biblically centered. I do not believe these axioms can be separated. If we are to love our neighbor as ourselves, then we should seek to be as harmless and reverentially kind as possible in the service of others.

"Close the doors" DID NOT show a reverence for relationship. It displayed, an arrogance and air of superiority and a need for subjugating and relegating individuals to being simply a means to an end.

While Dr. Sapp and many of his colleagues don't see it quite as plain as I am alluding to here, the detail and thought of shepherding, leadership and accountability must be the focus and practices that are not supported by Biblical mandates must be realigned to suit practices that are Biblical, and that do not bring a shame to the church and doctrine of Christ.

Blessed!
