Brian Carn, Taxes & The IRS Don't Mix

BREAKING: Televangelist Brian Carn has pled GUILTY in Federal Court to charges of Tax Fraud and Evasion.

1/15/2026 From the DOJ Office of Public Affairs:
"A few months later, when the IRS attempted to collect his unpaid taxes — including by placing liens on his properties and attempting to levy his bank accounts — Carn amended his 2015 tax return and falsely removed nearly $1.3 million in income that he previously reported. To accomplish this, Carn hired a new accountant and provided him with a fictitious, backdated employment agreement that provided for an annual salary of $120,000 and an annual parsonage allowance of $24,000. Carn represented to his accountant that this was all the income he earned for the year. Carn represented third parties on credit applications, financial account openings, and lease applications, and otherwise knew that the income he actually earned far exceeded the purported salary in the employment agreement provided to the new accountant..

In the following years, operating under the premise of the fictitious employment agreement, Carn filed a series of other tax returns that drastically underreported his true income. But in 2020, he stopped filing tax returns, despite continuing to earn income by using ministry funds to pay for personal expenses."
Believe me...I have been in JAIL before (certainly not for anything close to this)....but Yep, I have been in for my own ignorance and violation of the law. Nobody at the Dunamis WORD is happy that anyone suffers and loses their freedom. Take it from me, those metal benches and seats and commissary allowances are not worth trading freedom, needless to say, dollar pancake dinners and unsweetened tea...That is for the birds and I wish that noone has to go through that for any length of time.

HOWEVER...there comes a time when we must examine what is actually going on and  THANK GOD for bringing abuse to an end and appreciate God for doing as HE wishes to do.

Brian Carn The Demise Of An Abuser

This is a huge occurrence. Brian Carn has a huge following. Unfortunately, he is certainly a false prophet, and one that has allegedly used women sexually and has at least 1 child, ALLEGEDLY, that he has abandoned...BUT...is yet a human being that has delivered some good things to people over the years (among his many abuses and as abusers often do)

This is not about dragging Brian Carn, (our newest COGIC Pastor) but it is about THANKING GOD that he is correcting the House of God. Yet, there are folk that will still send him support by the droves. Probably all the fees associated with his pending imprisonment, will be paid by his most ardent supporters. They are the blind. Those who have been led astray. Those who have lent their resources to supporting abuse, ungodliness, immoral lifestyles, malfeasance and misfeasance and moral turpitude.

No matter what, God is in control, but let this be a warning to the rest of us to GET OUR HOUSES IN ORDER. In fact, not just that...STOP PLAYING WITH GOD!

Yep. I REPENTED. Fell on my face for my inadequacy and my thoughts that I could just "get by". I took my time (my days...not months and or years, THANK GOD!) to take a whole life, family and ministry view...to look at ME and what I had done to contribute to my trouble and most of all commit to never be found there again.

It WORKED! Repentance always does.

Compassion Must Meet & Agree WIth TRUTH

Even though we are a compassionate people...for all men and especially for those of us who are real in the faith, we must thank God for correction and bringing abuse, usury and unrighteousness to an end. We all saw this coming, with the illicit portrayals on the internet and alleged "prophecies" following a witch's lead. This man ministered a long time on "fumes" of righteousness, getting by to seduce the most gullible.

But yet, noone wants to see anyone fall for real. But our desire to want to support someone in trouble must meet the truth of God's word, for in his judgement, which in part this is, someone else has been delivered and set free. Someone, who was abused by him and his unchecked actions, have been brought to a place of relief.

My prayers are for THEM...God has Carn right where he needs to be, as a beginning of the correction, but those followers, alleged abandoned kids and those associated with him who will suffer loss, need our prayers...and yes, some of them need to repent too, because they were going to ride this false horse for all that it was worth...WELL, Like David Taylor...IT'S OVER NOW!

This is what I recently stated about this revelation:
LET ALL ABUSERS BE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE:

Don't try to soften it up. Carn knew what he did and continued in it. Carn doesn't represent "the Body of Christ". He represents himself, not all believers. Stop having sentiments for unrepentant criminals. He claims he doesn't need to repent for anything and has taken his self exaltation to the highest heights.

Prison ministry it is and count all else as loss to potentially save his soul. That is a good thing IF he repents. Scripture distinguishes faults from sins. Self exaltation is a sin, not in the category of a fault. Keep faults at a place to relate...but the WORD said SHOW MY PEOPLE THEIR SINS! (Is 58:1)

Yep, we all feel for Carn, but he victimized millions he is the abuser and now the abuser faces justice and that is a good thing!

Introducing the new I Am My Brother's Keeper Safe Church Program. The Safe Church Program is a program designed to inform members and visitors that your ministry is concerned about abuse enough to take steps to safeguard the environment.

FACT: According to a 2019 study, 10% of churchgoers stop going to church because they feel that sexual misconduct is not taken seriously or because they did not feel safe or insulated from sexual misconduct. ~ Christian Post 5/2019

A "Safe Church Certification" involves all aspects of the church's interpersonal relationships and ministry operations. In a "Safe Church Certified" church, members and visitors can rest assured that best practices are being implored to create the best possible environment for all individuals from cradle up.

Pastor's Call For National Victim's Advocacy Associates

"Church leadership, the lawsuit says, failed to properly screen associated church leaders for criminal and sexual misconduct. They also failed to institute a system in which victims could file formal complaints
against abusive church members.
"

This was from an article in 2020 that exposed the sexual abuse of a COGIC Pastor(s) in New York. Everyone loves to sound courageous. We are seeking servants of Christ who are looking to do more than sound good. We are not seeking individuals who believe sexual abuse within the church is a matter of "family", or that resolution of the issues should be  "kept it in house". We are seeking them who wish to make a stand for the hurting and ultimately make a difference.

BREAKING:

I Am My Brother's Keeper Christian Advocacy Council is seeking saved, spiritually mature and committed men and women (minimum 24 years of age) interested in sexual abuse prevention within the context of the church and in presenting appropriate and proper ministry towards those who have been victimized or suffered church related abuse to assist in helping individuals regain their faith and a sense of normalcy.

LOCATION: We are seeking to create an advocates network of individuals across the country who care about the plight of survivors and who will aid in this cause.

Pastoral Call To Action For COGIC Victim's Advocacy/ Queen GerVaise Guyton Interview Pt. 4

For quite a few years, I have advocated and continue to advocate for a process of Victim's Advocacy within what I think could be the greatest Church on Earth, the Church Of God In Christ.

Yes, basic processes have changed. A new system to educate leaders on sexual harassment and a requirement for universal background checks...however, NONE of those things address any sort of ministry to the hurting or towards those who have been victimized by pulpit and pastoral imposters, posing as angels of light within our church.

What is the problem?

Maybe it is implication of guilt...Maybe the church doesn't want to be on the hook for any more money than what they have delivered through NDA and what liberal news now calls "hush money agreements" ...The fact is the church currently spends money to investigate and even defend predators of sexual abuse within the church. In teh Dirty Man interviews, we find that the church used the money given to it to defend and help known sexual predators. Then we find that all too often, policies and practices are set forth that help the alleged CRIMINAL instead of addressing and helping the victims of these sexually perverted ministers of debauchery and shame. This MUST CEASE...and SOMEONE must be bold enough to call the church into account.

Still Essential:

NEW Policy, designed to help those who have been victimized...embraced, endorsed and approved within and by General Assembly. Sounds simple??? Well, the General Assembly consists of some of the offender class individuals. Bishops, Pastors and Elders making decisions on what policies the church should and will embrace. Needless to say that police policing themselves rarely works out positively or in favor of the public. The same is true of leaders, even Bishops who must hold one another accountable and Pastoral friends and associates of those people allegedly doing the same. In other words, until the QUID-PRO-QUO system is broken, change will only be incremental if any at all.

This is why popular leaders within the church must get serious and openly address the condition of our church in this area and the need to be the church that we talk and sing about. It will take bold leadership making a stand, endorsing what we should endorse and moving forward leading the church into a new destiny. It is a contradiction, to say that we love God and cannot find conscience enough to defend and heal those who have been cut open and nearly, if not, destroyed within our midst.

A Change Of Mindset:

Years ago, I was part of a local COGIC association of churches, when a particular pastor was found to have impregnated a 12 year old girl that was a member of his church. One of the Pastor's of that group said, "Well at least she was a daughter of the church and not outside of the church"...In his mind, although he realized the wrong, which ultimately destroyed what was left of that pastor's family and church, the commenting Pastor assumed that the sin was somehow made better because the victim had been raised in the church...Needless to say, I left that group, never came back and to this day, have no fellowship with them that hold such shallow ideology on the subject.

It is a complete offense to God and what we could readily and easily call an abomination, to use and abuse anyone in the context of the church or otherwise, but to be a pulpit predator is extremely beyond the pale of anything considered moral. We should have an accountability to ALL people, but an even greater duty to them who are of the household of faith. (Gal.6:10)

As long as we believe that victimization is an "acceptable" part of our experience even to the smallest degree, nothing will change...Unfortunately, church politics will continue without a word of change being delivered on the subject. Men and women, will continue to step into their "destiny"...receive their "blessing" and flow under some form of anointing AND RAISE MONEY, all while overlooking the things that will forge us a path to heaven.  Serving those who have been victimized and preventing evil from spreading within the context of our churches should be of high priority, but seems to be of lesser importance than the "show" or display of church.

Will the REAL LEADERS OF OUR CHURCH MAKE A STAND? Let's see. I really and sincerely want to see this.

CHALLENGE: For those willing to join this very spiritual battle to promote a revolutionary change within this church and be a part of a seed change within the Christian church in general, call us at (800)730-2990 x802

The DIRTY MAN...Is Not Hidden, Can't Stop God & Will Be Judged

As I look back, I see that having embarked on the ministry of sexual abuse was very timely and continues to be life changing and eye opening.

It seems that the message was certainly not overlooked. God gave me a message that would sit right at the dinner table with many of the most vile abusers. I receive information, many times after the fact, of what was done and the impact of my work in helping to bring attention to the issue of church related abuse, and healing of those who survived. I am proud, in Christ, to say, THANK YOU JESUS for the opportunity to serve in this capacity!

While the young lady, whom I will bring focus to in this post, and I have never crossed paths in the City of Chicago, interestingly, her abuser and myself did. Unfortunately, we served in the same Jurisdiction, and at least on one occasion, even ate at the same table. As I reflect, God sent me to the right place at the right time with the right message. My last interaction in that jurisdiction, I was invited to this predator's church in the guise of a Jurisdiction function. I am proud to say, that I told my former Bishop, the Late Bishop Robert Sanders of Il. 3rd Jurisdiction, that I REFUSED to step foot in a known predator/pedophile's church. Although Bishop Sanders has gone on to his eternal reward, to this day, I haven't step foot in, not darkened the door of that church.

Now, you can say what you will...doesn't matter to me...nobody has paid my bills but me/us and to God be the glory!!! I wish that as a church we could make such a bold stance to put these sexual abusers out of business. Yes, they are everywhere, in every denomination and seemingly around every corner. Yes, they need to be in church...I would say on their face getting delivered, but they do not need pulpits, and no matter how vocally acrobatic they can be, they need to SIT DOWN and get saved and stop their abuse and molestation and REPAIR the damage that they have done by abusing, misusing and mishandling God's children. It is NOT a "special gift", as pedophile, serial abuser and demon filled Evangelist Tony Levya once said...He abused and sex trafficked over some 700 boys in his ungodly lifetime. It is a damnable, despicable, pathetic sin worthy of the deepest and lowest parts of hell, and those who do not wish to part from their sins, can't go there fast enough in my opinion.

OK...I got that out...let's get on to the real story at hand...

In 2020, GerVaise Sarah Guyton, at one time, the alleged God-daughter of this particular pedophile freak minister, whom she calls "DIRTY MAN" and "DDM Sr" and titled her book after, was thankfully able to enter into her deliverance and expose the sins of this rejected and clearly unrepentant minister.

In an explicit and no holds barred manner, Mrs. Guyton reveals the truth and goes in depth to the nitty-gritty of the rape and molestation that she experienced and into the depts of the sins that she survived. In this book, "DIRTY MAN A MEMOIR OF HEALING AND DELIVERANCE FROM SEXUAL ABUSE" Mrs. Guyton uncovers this serial pedophile minister who preys on young girls, seeking to defile them, while telling them he is "teaching them" how to have sex and be a good young lady for their future husbands.

One may say...why isn't this person in jail? While he did go to jail for other offenses, these offenses somehow escaped the statute of limitations in Illinois somehow and he was acquitted of the charges similar to the other alleged pedophile, abusive Bishop I have featured both on this blog and in various related podcasts. Click HERE for the links to that information.

The amazing thing to me is that after having advocated for survivors of this terrible sin for years, and seen offenders exposed and judged by God, is that some offenders somehow yet believe that they will escape judgement. They believe that their acts of abuse will never be rehearsed. In other words, they are PULPIT ATHEISTS, who DO NOT BELIEVE GOD, nor do they believe that God's word is true, and that he will stand for the least of them, his children! These fakes seek to present themselves as heroes for one reason or another, but are really the scum scraped off the bottom of commercial garbage heaps.

Some say, "you don't sound like a preacher of redemption"...maybe not...but they didn't sound or look like preachers of redemption when they were raping, abusing, sexually violating and defiling these young ladies and boys now did they??? None of them, including the defiled, illiterate, ungodly and demonically bound parents, and church folk who knew the whole story, but stopped nothing, failed to sound the alarm, and supported these abusers neither sounded or acted like anyone "of redemption" did they???

We seem to offer more excuses for inaction, and tend to resist them bringing deliverance and re-abuse those who have survived these horrific acts of Godless men and in some cases women.

Victim's Advocacy Is Not Dead

While we get ready for yet another election in COGIC, I do need to remind you, that even though I know of no candidate who has undertaken a serious look at victim's advocacy, or taken serious action  in support of survivors of church related abuse and sexual abuse, VICTIM'S ADVOCACY IS NOT DEAD YET!

What we will see from this blog, as long as it continues, is continued advocacy for those who have been hurt and abused and continued support for those who have suffered and survived this sin straight from the pit of hell.

Families, sons, daughters, wives and husbands need freedom from what sexual abuse and molestation has done to them. It has shaped some ideals that seem inescapable, some passions that seem to be to great to overcome and some depression that seems to be too low to move through from day to do...All I would say and continue to say is LOOK UP...because your REDEMPTION DRAWS NEAR!!!!

God WILL make a way for you. He will and can take the seemingly destroyed pieces that you have received, and build the most glorious place of refuge for you and your family...GOD CAN...AND GOD WILL!

Closing Prayer:

FATHER, I pray for all them that read this and participate in this blog, that you will strengthen them by your power and might. I pray that you will heal the pain of the soul that some have experienced with your stripes of redemption, and that you will lift hearts above and through the sin of abuse, rape and molestation and help these survivors find higher and greater hopes, aspirations and abundant life...I pray that you will activate the gifts of those holding, receiving and ministering to those who have been hurt, suffered and drained from these egregious sins. I pray that like a mighty  DUNAMIS wind you would use us to charge, energize and call souls back to life and let them live free as never before! Replace despair with hope, strength, love and isolation with vibrant community. Let them know that God's children are blessed...that God's children shall be blessed and strengthened and God's children are in your hands, and you are a very present help and healer in this time of need...Heal them, love them, care for them, and raise them up again...and blaze a bright path of freedom and we enter into a new day filled with joy, laughter, freedom and PARAISE...We will be careful, to give you ALL praise, for YOU are the author and finisher of our faith and in you we are never alone. To you, all praise and honor.
IN JESUS NAME WE PRAY!

AMEN!!!

Heal SOMEBODY today!!!

Blessed!!!

Sexual Abuse...Still Yet An Issue Within The Church

Most of our readers know that this blog and its contents are strongly positioned against clergy and church related sexual abuse and SINS. If you are new and don't know the issues, or are unaware of the issues, please feel free to click HERE to read some of the past articles I have written over the years and from time to time.

Let me be clear, my issues are not with church transitions, such as the fiasco currently rumbling within the Grand Ole Church as it pertains to the church of deceased Bishop Hutchins and General Board Member Brandon Porter...in short, other than the spiritual welfare and stability of all them involved, I COULD REALLY CARE LESS. I don't care who takes over or who does what, wins what, is appointed to what, or what the national church is doing during the election process either. None of those issues  "float my boat", although I stop short of saying that any of those issues are unimportant. They are important, just not to me and this blog...and I don't care to waste my or your time on those issues, at least, not at this point.

What Is A Matter Of Importance???

What matters to me is how churches prevent, handle, and respond to clergy and church related abuse and sexual abuse, and even church related crimes such as those alleged by a former COGIC Pastor (notice, most are always known as "former" when their garbage comes out) Bobby C. Smith whose case will finally hit open air next week. If you didn't know about this case, it is a matter of PUBLIC INFORMATION, here is the video in summary on this case from one of the only current voices I respect exposing these devils. You know him as "Dawson Speaks"

I mean this is SAD!!! Dawson said it all, but after digesting that complete and utter FOOLISHNESS and pathetic self exalted and out of control FREAK-COONERY, I guess maybe we can get back to the point of this article....My Lord, that garbage is like getting stuck in a quick-sand tar pit....

A Second Pandemic?

As a result of the primary pandemic of covid-19, there was a second pandemic of child and female abuse as well. There are a growing number of studies and research being conducted on it but it is notable that sexual abuse and abuse in general within society rose to all time high levels.

According to an April 2020 article at NPR:

"By the end of March, with much of the country under lockdown, there was a 22% increase                     in monthly calls from people younger than 18, and half of all incoming contacts were from                     minors. That's a first in RAINN's history, Camille Cooper, the organization's vice president                     of public policy, tells NPR.

Of those young people who contacted the hotline in March, 67% identified their perpetrator                     as a family member and 79% said they were currently living with that perpetrator. In 1 out                     of 5 cases where the minor was living with their abuser, RAINN assisted the minor in                             immediately contacting police.

"As a result of looking at the information that we had from those sessions, it was clear that                     the abuse was escalating in both frequency and severity," Cooper says. "So a lot of the kids                     that were coming to the hotline were feeling pretty vulnerable and traumatized. And it was                     a direct result of COVID-19, because they were quarantined with their abuser. The abuser                     was now abusing them on a daily basis."

According to the United Nations, violence against women during lockdowns was notable all around the world:
"Across the 13 countries surveyed, 2 in 3 women report that they or a woman they know has experienced violence at some point in their lifetime. Nearly 1 in 2 report direct or indirect experiences of violence since the start of the pandemic.

The most common form is verbal abuse (50%), followed by sexual harassment (40%), physical abuse (36%), denial of basic needs (35%) and denial of means of communication (30%). Seven in 10 women surveyed believe violence against women is common in their community.

Most women believe that COVID has made things worse. Nearly 7 in 10 women think domestic violence has increased during the pandemic, and 3 in 5 think sexual harassment in public has increased. In many cases, heightened demand for shelters and other forms of support has remained unmet due to operational constraints.

For Romela Islam, the abuse by her husband began long before COVID-19. But it was not until December 2020 that she and her 4-year-old daughter were able to escape. Islam found refuge at a women’s shelter, and the two have begun to build a new life. Reduced shelter capacity, however, means many women have not had this same chance."

While much of this abuse and violence took place within the context of families and isolated groups, the church, even though most went online for services and just threw away any biblical and traditional  design for worship for fear of infection or running afoul of the socialist oriented governmental fearmongering (fyi: New Bethel COGIC NEVER closed)..in all of that, sexual abuse still managed to increase, wives and children still managed to be abused, raped and everything else that displays the sin-sickness of society.

The question is, how did the church expect to escape the same results or similar increases in ungodly behavior since in nearly every category, including this one, the church mimics society?

Is It A Cover-up Or Just Plain Old Silence?

Since my first article in 2007, which dealt with the absolute embarrassing Freak-Coonery of Junaita Bynum (1 or 2 or whomever she claims to be at present) and Mr. Weeks, with the exception of Dawson, since the disappearance of Eder DL Foster of Witness Freedom Ministries who also started the "Report COGIC Abuse" website (which is no longer a website although information on Elder DL and his actions can be found HERE,) external reports of sexual abuse and clergy misconduct (SIN) that have taken place within COGIC led or affiliated churches have virtually disappeared and vanished from the internet. This is amazing!

Are we to imagine that the church, our church in particularly, which had a case of sexual abuse and pastoral degeneracy on the scene almost every month for a time, is somehow an anomaly and completely free of sexual abuse, pastoral misconduct and other sins? Maybe its a miracle that a church that had, over many years, been confronted with Pastoral sins and abuse, and either excused themselves from more than a few sexual abuse cases, suddenly was healed overnight and now nothing is wrong and everyone healed and made whole???

NO! We know better. If we don't we should. There is simply a tighter lid on things. People are being instructed to be silent and victims still yet being shamed when information is brought forth, so much until others fear to say anything. Fact is that sinful behaviors still and yet exist.

I never have solicited anyone to contact me or I Am My Brother's Keeper Christian Advocacy Council with stories just to have a story. I have never attempted to take my articles to any news organizations or condense contents into a best selling book...although one or two regarding other subjects are on the way...In fact, I have NEVER taken a payment or promise of position for silence on issues or subject matter pertaining to COGIC or any other church, pastor, preacher, teacher or organization...and further will NEVER be engaged in such.

This is why it is disturbing that if persons such as myself and others don't drive issues, or  bring them up in public, you'll not see issues going anywhere. You'll see business as usual continue as if nothing is wrong.

Current Actions

Believe me, I love our Presiding Bishop J Drew Sheard. He is a very encouraging friend of this ministry and me personally. However, I DID NOT fail to send him a victim's advocacy proposal by parcel delivery shortly after he was inaugurated as our Chief Apostle. As of this writing, I cannot say that I have heard from him regarding my proposal, the information I sent or any other policy regarding this issue, however I cannot say that he is not concerned about the issue as well...I do know this...he is one of the ONLY Bishops in this church that extended his ministry to me, without reservation, when I called upon him some years back regarding unrelated issues. However, the Presiding Bishop is not the King of this church and this is not a "totalitarian church. There are many others, that are aware of these efforts who haven't lifted a hand or finger to assist, promote or develop plans on the issue. I am confident that if this church moves in this area, it will be under his leadership and direction and will move many years into the future to both heal victims and stop church related abuse.

What Can YOUR Church Do?

Since our initial efforts, the Grand Ole Church has implemented background checks and sexual harassment training and even adopted an impromptu (at that time) written sexual harassment policy (as I found out during a deposition in a pastoral case) While those are at least positive things, there is much more that can and should be done. The good news is that each church does not have to wait for the national church to take positive steps to address the issues. Every Pastoral leader in the country can undertake agenda to make their church a truly SAFE CHURCH environment that will serve and advocate for survivors of sexual abuse.

First,  I contend and always have believed that the church must first make themselves accountable to teach, and train each congregations on the issue and issues involved. It goes without saying that folk need to be SAVED first, but even in that, many people have been taught wrong views on church leadership, marriage and interaction within the church. For example, a popular bishop in Detroit once taught that a husband and wife shouldn't even kiss, to keep from giving rise to "the flesh". Now, that is a ridiculous sentiment, but how many people may have actually believed and adopted that garbage into their marriages? And how many marriages were exposed to FREAK-COONERY in part because of bad and unwholesome teaching???

Secondly, while this may be embarrassing to some, as a matter of Christian education we cannot function within modern society without knowing this information and the problem. The church must require pastoral and ministry training on issues of sexual abuse on an ongoing basis, and consistently teach leaders and lay-members how to diminish the environmental potential within each church for such sins to occur.  Something as simple as rotating ministry leaders, especially youth leaders, every 6 to 12 months could not only save children from abuse but also save ministries from public embarrassment. Third, setting up internal councils of review and implementing a national victims advocacy (NOT PERP) policy,  and victim focused resolution teams, could allow the church to actually minister to her most venerable and those healing from these sort of sins.

There is a lot more that we must do than have church in every major city, raise money, spend money at hotels, play music and shop, IF our mission and goal is to be like Jesus and HEAL & SAVE The Lost!

This is an issue that is not important until it is you or someone you know at the center of abuse. That is why it is good to lay a foundation now. To set things in order and to do RIGHT before the Lord. No matter how many singers we have, NO SONG washes away the fear, shame and utter helplessness of sexual abuse and church related abuse and misconduct.

Quick Word: Many of you who have experienced this type of abuse or grooming are too embarrassed to speak up because you don't know how you allowed this to happen. I want you to know, no matter how it happened, it was wrong then and it is wrong now and no matter what, YOU need healing and GOD has healing for you. No minister or church personnel was every authorized by God to abuse and or take advantage of you or your family in any way. There is strength, help, hope and healing and a BALM in GILEAD. Supported 100% To Abuse. The Demonic "Full Body" Anointing

"We support him 100%. We love our Pastor, and support him 100%"

To me, it is no wonder that the world did not consider the church as "essential" since the beginning of the covid 19 pandemic. Why? Simply put, the modern church has served itself in a gluttonous fashion and attached itself to the very things that God condemns.

See the Entire SHAMEFUL Deposition Below

Money grabs, power grabs and excuses for and in support of sexual excess, sins and abuse. These things have taken over the identity of the modern church. It has become worse, in many instances, than secular places of employment and businesses.

According to his own testimony in the attached deposition (below) and his description of what is called a "full body anointing", seemingly on women only, defrocked Pastor Lewis Clemmons is certainly a representative of all of the excesses and sins that cause the world to think of the church and the modern day minister as UN-essential.

According to testimony (also below) of at least 2 victims that came foreword, Clemmons is said to have began grooming a victim at 15 years of age. As if that weren't bad enough, he also had the audacity to place scripture in the mix and use it as a justification for his actions, praying over genitals that he had defiled, and a demanding abortions to cover sins and then, to top it all off, deny his actions through preaching and by blaming his victims. These are some of the things that pastor/apostle/bishop Clemmons was not only accused of doing, but also found guilty of doing by a court of law.

It took the WORLD to ban this preacher from being a spiritual leader ever again, and a $500,000 judgment against him. The WORLD showed more integrity than his "fans" within the church that seek to rally around the preacher perceiving him to be "under attack".

If this had been left up to the church, we would still be dancing around issues of "love" and confusion, minimizing the needs of those victimized, claiming that the "pastor needs help too." Which certainly he does...but our focus would be off...we would continue to condemn the victims as trouble makers, while praising the predator, who both used and abused his liberty and destroyed lives more than $500,000 or any amount of money can restore.

This is why I Am My Brothers Keeper Christian Advocacy Council (IMBKCAC.ORG) yet exists and continues its mission IN SUPPORT of those victimized by churches and charlatans such as this. Please join us in this ongoing fight by contributing to our cause to help us continue to reach and minister to victims of sexual abuse in COGIC and all over the country and in every denomination.

Blessed!

COGIC Pastor Senteced To Life PLUS 220 Years For Sexual Abuse

Special thanks to a reader of the Dunamis Word who recently brought to my attention the outcome and ongoing circumstances regarding a horrific case of sexual abuse. I want to stop and say this first....

COGIC SEXUAL ABUSE BY A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF OUR CLERGY STILL EXISTS AND NOT ONLY MUST BE DEALT WITH AND PUT DOWN, BUT VICTIMS MUST BE HEALED, MINISTERED TO, AND RECONCILED. FAILURE TO DO THAT IS NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF CHRIST, NO MATTER HOW MUCH WE SHOUT, DANCE AND SPEAK IN TONGUES!

Although clergy sexual abuse is not unique to our church, and happens in every church and every denomination on Earth, I am disturbed when it happens in my church.

I would say to any pastor and any Jurisdictional prelate, unless you have a "Safe Church Plan" in place, you and the people in your church, and organization are dangling on the edge. I'll continue to deal with that in another writing, but background checks and sexual harassment training doesn't do it!

Logan Wesley III of Texarkana, AK was recently sentenced to life PLUS 220 years for his filthy and perverted acts and actions with youth of his church over a number of years. It seems that this "pastor" was so much of a predator, that he took time to defile kids on church vans, at his personal residence, at the church and seemingly whenever and wherever he could get time to rape his victims, and then would threaten them or bribe them not to tell of his demonic acts.

After the sentence prosecuting States Attorney Kelly Crisp stated the following:
“The jury, having heard evidence that Logan Wesley has been terrorizing and
raping children since at least 1981, sentenced him to the maximum amount of prison time for each of the counts for which he was convicted,” Crisp said. “Wesley’s prolific and outrageous criminal behavior entirely justifies the sentence he received. The repeated violations of the criminal laws of the State of Texas caught up with Logan Wesley this week. Thankfully the 12 citizens of Bowie County who made up this jury showed this defendant the same amount of mercy he showed his victims, which was none.”

What adds insult to injury is that Pastor Wesley's wife and even Church Mother is now caught in the web of sin and defilement, because as mandated reporters, they failed to act and tell authorities when knowledge came to them that pastor Wesley was engaging in or potentially engaging in these acts and actions. The Texarkana Gazette reports that the next round of liability lawsuits have begun HERE.

YES, if a person comes to you, and you re in a position of leadership within a church, and you reside in a mandated reporter state, and you fail to report such acts, YOU COULD GO TO JAIL for being complicit in abuse.

So here we have a church completely destroyed, victims that have had their life totally upended, an alleged pastor jailed for life, his family destroyed in the process, and many of you will only yet sing the praises of the church as if, "that was them, this is me"...well, YOU'RE NO BETTER than any of these folk. You're ungodly too, if you don't see the sense of urgency in dealing with and putting this mess and mess like it down for good!

For a considerable amount of time, COGIC has stood behind a "faith mission" concept claiming no direct responsibility for sexiually abusive clergy, while simultaneously demanding payment for annual credential assessment in the name of "National Reports", and no direct obligation to victims of said abuse at the hands of many of these national report holders. Allegedly, checks have been written by the national church to victims and several NDA's have been signed that continue to keep silence and allegiance among the ranks. While these reports may or may not be true, what is still clear, is that there's STILL NO CLEAR PATH TO RESTORATION for those who have suffered victimization, and I still await meetings to discuss plans that this church can implement to reverse all of the negative stigma and ungodly actions surrounding this issue.

As stated, progress has been made in certain areas, such as background checks and sexual harassment training, which are issues prior to Elder DL Foster's COGIC ABUSE WATCH, were not on the horizon to be fixed and or addressed. So thanks for "some "progress, but that is not nearly enough!

NO PROGRESS has been made as to how the church handles those who have been victimized or reintegrates and restores them that have been hurt and suffer this abuse. NO PROGRESS has been made as to how the church immediately removes such pastors or delays pastoral activities until such questions have been given a response. The procedural codes need to be updated, but there is no will to do so in many instances.

Well, as stated above, the victims have filed civil suit for damages and COGIC has been named a party to their suit. For certain COGIC will seek summary dismissal, claiming that they have no direct responsibility for this pastor's actions as I have witnessed in many other instances and been party to in at least one. Who knows how that will go or how that will be interpreted by the court, but the fact is, beyond the courts, the CHURCH SHOULD DO RIGHT and be actively engaged in the RESTORATION of these victims both emotionally and spiritually. Be the LIGHT that we claim that we are. It's really just that simple.

Blessed!

Sex Abuse Prevention, Church Mutual. New COGIC Preferred Provider Still NOT Victim's Advocacy

It seems that there is a push in the Grand Ole Church (aka: COGIC) to maximize dollars through Church Mutual Insurance, through a church insurance program especially designed to cover COGIC churches at a group discount providing a 5% or 10% cash back in the form of a dividend or premium credit (whichever is allowable under applicable State law).

Church Mutual is one of the nation's largest insurers (among the top 3 generally) of churches, ministries and para-ministry organizations in the United States.

What I found interesting is that Church Mutual has many resources available to help church leaders and administrators assess and manage potential risks through both practice and insurance planning. According to the "Pastor's Letter" which is in a PDF in full below, Church Mutual plans to offer the church the following benefits at individual pastoral requests:
• On-site hazard identification/assessment • Ergonomic evaluations • Accident investigation training • Safety training and resource tools • Emergency preparedness and action planning • Loss analysis (identifying trending and root causes and offer solutions) • Review of programs/policies/procedures (specific to your ministry/operations) • Innovative property protection (examples – sensor technology, drones) • Accurate replacement cost valuations • Customized service plans • Safety Presentations • Security and emergency preparedness (workplace violence and armed intruder – incorporates ALICE and FIRESTORM concepts and training) • Severe weather preparedness • Protecting your youth (preventing sexual misconduct) • Slip, trip, and falls prevention• Online and telephonic safety support • Allergy and swimmer wristbands • Safety seminars, webinars, and videos • Risk reporter newsletter and risk alerts • Safety material (posters, brochures, checklists, safety programs, videos, newsletters, presentations, and webinars)
As you can see I have underscored part of this "plan" that offer benefits similar to a Safe Church Certification offered through  I Am My Brother's Keeper Christian Advocacy Council.

I also find it interesting that I personally contacted Church Mutual about 4 years ago asking for their help in developing such a program and they had no clue as to where to begin or what to do.

At the end of the day the suggestions and services of Church Mutual are a step in the right direction and are good supportive measures, but close attention needs to be paid to what this program really is and what it does not do.

What is the COGIC Church Mutual Insurance Plan?
  • The Church Mutual program is a buyers discount club. The intent of the program is to "leverage the buying power of the 10,000+ locations in order to reduce premiums" This means that it is like buying insurance in bulk or at a group premium rate.
  • The Church Mutual program is a premium dividend or premium credit arrangement. When fully implemented the participating churches will either receive cash back for insurance premiums or a premium credit.
  • The Church Mutual plan is a voluntary plan with no upward or third party reporting or accountability. IMBKCAC has called for a MANDATORY plan for all COGIC churches in all jurisdictions. Part of the Safe Church Plan (SCP) includes not only "mandatory" participation of all churches at all sizes and levels within the church in the SCP.
  • The Church Mutual plan does not encourage 3rd party independent oversight. IMBKCAC called for COGIC to provide and submit to 3rd party independent oversight in matters of sexual abuse. We have also consistently and unfailingly called for the establishment of  the following supports:
  1. A national sexual abuse advocacy hot line
  2. Transparent annual reporting of church related sexual abuse, molestation, rape and pedophilia available at least annually through every Jurisdiction at the request of any individual or entity.
  3. The Establishment of a Victims Advocacy Department (which can only be done at the General Assembly Level)
  4. Regional abuse response advocacy teams coordinated by the Victim's Advocacy Department to assist victims and their families in each region in the event of church related sexual abuse.
  • The Church Mutual Plan does not provide a path for victims advocacy. This plan DOES NOT lay out the rights of victims rights. such as to whom and how to make reports, (which may be covered in some brief detail in the church official "sexual harassment policy") nor does it deliver a timetable to resolve complaints, and standards of care during the time a complaint is filed until a case has ceased.
Why Can't IMBKCAC Just Be Happy?

Though, as stated, Church Mutual has done much internal work to help their clients, in this case COGIC, by making them aware of the level of review that is essential to address the issues of church safety, the Church Mutual plan is simply is not a Victim's Advocacy Plan nor a SCP and should not be mistaken as such.

The Church Mutual Program is what it is, an insurance plan aimed at mitigating risk, maximizing premiums and overall company profitability.

With that said, I don't quite know how we or anyone should feel about this program. Premium discounts are good. Information on preventing sexual harassment, abuse, sexual misconduct and rape, is good, however, it is misleading to think that this plan provides a level of safety or security and restoration of victims. Making that assumption could be a very bad assumption in the long run.

Most churches and leaders will look at the plan and choose the short path to say that the church has solved issues pertaining to sexual abuse, victimization and rape. Similar to the Catholic Church, COGIC, it seems, will view the relationship with Church Mutual as one in which all problems dealing with sexual abuse, rape, pedophilia and clergy sexual misconduct is satisfied.

While I can only hope that church will respond with a higher level of intent and integrity, I cannot say that this program will do anything to solve problems that have arisen over the years and yet continue to plague all of Christianity and religion in general today.

Below is a very good video by Church Mutual partners Godfrey & Kahn SC which deals with and addresses many aspects of church related sexual abuse and misconduct (aka: SINS)...I believe that will be a good starting place and churches should know that victims grow...they have memories...and one day, every story will be told!

"Alleged" Pastoral Sexual Abusers. Who Will HEAL The Victims?

Yes, the truth is stranger than fiction. As we have stated for a number of years, when all institutions break down in society, there is usually the church to support the people. But when the church itself fails, where do the people go?
As we look at this story of 3 "alleged perverted pastoral" leaders who used and abused not only the young people or persons that they sexually assaulted, but they also used the church in general. However, we must also ask,

Where was ANY system of accountability?
  • Where were the parents, who allowed a 14 year old girl to come home with hundreds of dollars after being with grown men, for hours at a time?
  • Where were the deacons, assistants and other church leaders who knew that overwhelming amounts of time were being spent between children and adults in a private setting?
  • Where were the "wives" (if any of these men had any) in seeking to know where their husbands were and who they were with, and why money was "missing"?
This was a total breakdown of any system of accountability throughout this church, now, who heals the victims? In fact in many cases, because of the psychological twisting and manipulation of the abusers, the victim not only feels guilt for the perpetrators being caught, but often don't want the abuse to stop. Then, later, as things return to some sense of normal, they become overwhelmed with rage and anger....Even the members of the church, both young and old, feel abandoned.

Aside from Jesus himself...WHO WILL HEAL THAT???
This is why we NEED Victim's Advocacy!

IMBKCAC Restoring The Lost & Healing The Broken

Clergy and church related sexual abuse is a devastating plague that according to one insurance company effects over 160 youth per year for over 2 decades. That is over 3,200 youth that have been used, molested or otherwise inappropriately engaged in the context of the church. Where do we go when the institution charged to heal us, becomes defiled and shirks its responsibility and command to love, protect and restore?

I Am My Brother's Keeper Christian Advocacy Council exists to bring dignity back to the fight for restoration, justice and the walk of faith. We announce, we're not finished...we've only just begun to fight!

COGIC 110th Annual Holy Convocation: Still Asking For Victims Advocacy

With a 2017 theme: "In This Changing World Let Us Hold On To Our Unchanging Faith" The Church Of God In Christ (aka: COGIC), one of the nations largest Pentecostal/Holiness denominations, prepares for it's 110th Annual Holy Convocation Nov. 6 - 14th 2017. The Convocation is the pinnacle meeting and gathering of the Saints of COGIC from all over the world to celebrate the glory, power and majesty of Christ through the year and in every place.

Though the gathering is a celebration of God's goodness, there is a business element particularly at the end of the successive days of worship in which the General Assembly, the church's ONLY rule and law making body, consisting of certain member delegates and leaders, gather to discuss certain matters of church business and operations. What we can be assured of is that "Victim's Advocacy" is NOT on the General Assembly agenda for 2017 which is somewhat discouraging to I Am My Brother's Keeper Christian Advocacy Council (IMBKCAC) founder Supt. Harvey Burnett New Bethel COGIC of IL. 3rd Jurisdiction. Supt. Burnett has advocated for victim's advocacy with an element of independent oversight for a number of years in light of past and present allegations of clergy and church related sexual abuse and sins. In a recent letter to Presiding Bishop Charles E Blake Supt. Burnett stated the following:
"Quite frankly, I find it hard to believe that as a church we are taking the welfare of victims seriously when nearly every measure that has been taken to "prevent" sexual misconduct provide, if not instruct, the alleged perpetrators of the crimes on their due process rights and basically how to secure themselves and their ministerial futures."
Supt. Burnett goes on to say:
"One would think that in light of the serious fallout and devastating effects of sexual perversion that have been displayed on the news, that our organization would take the lead in dealing skillfully with survivors and seek to assure the public that our churches are a safe place for all worshipers, and for those recovering from all forms of abuse. However, to simply say such means little if we are not carefully, thoroughly and honestly evaluated."
Without a doubt the mission of COGIC to the community is at its zenith. However, the mission is preformed at a time when allegations of sexual abuse are rocking Hollywood, institutions of higher education, politics, the business community and nearly every facet of American life. It would certainly seem that the issues pertaining to abuse are not going away anytime soon.

To suggest that the church is not reflective of the community that it serves is more a sign of wishful thinking than reality. The unfortunate fact is that some churches feel that they can self-administer their own brand of healing when sexual abuse occurs and many feel that they do not have to be accountable to the larger community and group to which they are a part. Therefore, many issues pertaining to the healing process of those victimized are often reduced to methods similar to trying to close a gaping wound with band-aids.

What Can We Do?

What we will do is set forth a solid agenda in General Assembly in 2018. I would say as a people and members that we should begin to call more loudly for healing for those who have been victimized and a better and member centered victim's rights and advocacy platform.

If you are a survivor of sexual abuse, I would advise that you DO NOT take a settlement in which you waive your rights to speak on the incident or on your experience. Silence or confidentiality agreements are a further affliction of pain and exemplifies cultural abuse. When it is thought that money can be exchanged for personal freedoms, there is a problem on both sides of the issue.

We will live blog some of the events next week so please stay tuned right here.

Blessed!

Questions On Sexual Abuse? COGIC Law Day At The 110 Annual Holy Convocation

Well, I am quite sure that when this forum was designed that sexual abuse and sexual harassment weren't primary topics that the planning committee was thinking that would be addressed, but with the history of unresolved allegations of sexual abuse, clergy sexual sins and the current secular climate of sexual abuse and harassment even in the workplace, it just may be the opportune time for COGIC members, and others, to shore up their knowledge and information on how to handle allegations of sexual abuse and criminal misconduct even within the scope and sphere of the church itself.

I plan to be there to pose questions and hear the questions of others addressed as well as hear the response of the legal professionals involved. I encourage all of those who are like-minded to meet me there for what I think may be a very special, informative session and unique occasion.

"Home-Wrecker" Laws & The Power Of The Innocent Spouse

A question that I have raised in the Jones v Pollard case, is
exactly who is the victim?

Certainly there is a cleric predator, sex addict, preacher, and a manipulated and manipulative woman that have stood up both claiming that they have been treated unjustly. While, from all available evidence, it is clear that the accuser, Ms. Pollard was treated unjustly during her younger and adolescent years, and clearly used as a sex object, by an adult, male pedophile and pervert. What is unclear is the level of abuse that she actually suffered over or during her adult years and just how much she may have contributed toward her condition over that time. Both of them, the abuser and the abused, claim to have been treated unfairly and wrong by one another if noone else.

Sexual Abuse Or Sexual Relationship?

For quite some time now, brewing under the surface of the shouting, dancing, ecstatic preaching and speaking in tongues that Holy Ghost filled believers do in the Church Of God in Christ, were questions regarding the accusations against Auxiliary Bishop James L'Keith Jones of Albuquerque, New Mexico and allegations of sexual abuse and clergy sexual misconduct.
Allegedly, it was Jones who at his then age 29 entered into an illicit relationship (of some kind) with a 15 year old church member Ms. Kimberly Pollard. Supposedly, Jones groomed Ms. Pollard and tainted her mind, sweeping her of her feet, and basically making a sex slave out of her not only at the time, but off and on for the majority of the next 20 years all the while continuing in relationship and fellowship with the church.
